Joe was reliable, friendly, and did quality work.  He has a great work ethic.  Joe completed everything we discussed, in a timely manner, and then did a few extras that were very helpful to me.  I would definitely recommend him!

It went well. Joe was prompt to respond and did a good job and worked quickly to get the job done. This was for a home that we were fixing and reselling. We thought the price was fair for the work that was done.

We had bought a rental property and the previous owners had laminate all over the kitchen walls. It had to go, so we removed it. Underneath was black glue that was just a mess. The kitchen ceiling had really old tiles all over it and looked pretty bad. I called three different contractors who got good reviews here on Angie's list to get estimates to drywall the kitchen walls and ceiling.
I had contacted the first contractor before I called Joe. This guy was responsive and came out a couple of days later. He gave me his estimate on the spot - $2200. That was a lot more than I had planned to spend on the job. A LOT MORE!!!! The next guy I called was responsive, too, but he said he'd need to write up the quote and mail it to me.
We had bought the house to rent out, and it needed some work. There was a sequence of events that had to take place in order to get it ready. I needed firm dates so that I could schedule the next tradesperson.
I called Joe on Friday night of Labor Day weekend. I left a message on his answering machine, and figured I'd hear from him the following week. To my surprise, he called me back on Saturday morning. He offered to come look at the work on Sunday. That's Sunday of Labor Day weekend!! I was really surprised and happy.
Joe looked the job over and gave me an estimate of $1200 and told me it would be done within the week. He was taking my job as an adjunct to another one he had in the works, so that's why it was going to take a week.
Joe was a really nice guy. It is obvious he knows what he is doing. He has been drywalling for a long time and has a great eye for detail. He pointed out several things to me about the job that I hadn't thought about. He understood I wanted it to look really nice, but also understood that I was watching my pennies. He figured out the best way to do the job for the least cost.
I told Joe that I wanted him to go ahead and do the work. He was able to start almost right away.
I just gave him a key to the property and he let himself in and got the job done over the next few days. I was amazed at how great it looked. He was a hard worker and a fast worker. The guy knows what he is doing!!
Joe always left the property in good condition. In fact, I think he left it in better condition that what he found it in.
The drywall job he did was just amazing. I cannot tell you how great it looked when he was done. The walls and ceiling were so easy for me to paint.
I will use Joe on any further drywalling that I need. He was professional, friendly, thorough and a real quality craftsman.
Oh, and that second contractor that I asked for an estimate? I received it in the mail AFTER Joe had completed the work.
If you need drywall work, don't waste your time or money on anyone else! CALL JOE MEDAGLIA OF PROFESSIONAL DRYWALL SERVICE!!!!!!

I considered doing the work myself and also received pricing from general contractors, but due to complexity of job I decided to also get bids from drywall contractors because I expected that is where I would get best quality result. I got a couple drywall contactor quotes and based on Joes' evident experience, confidence and interest in tackling the job, I hired him. He had the best price of the drywall contractors that I considered. He took care of everything from there including specialized delivery required of materials via boom truck to the third floor, installation of drywall, tape and paste, etc. I was very flexible in schedule, so his installation over a period of about a 2 week time period worked fine for me. He worked around scheduling conflicts that I had including not starting too early in the morning so as not to wake our young child. It is hard to tell even after the job is complete exactly how things will look after walls/ceilings are painted. A week later, I had space painted and I was not disappointed. I am quite impressed with the result and I am very happy I decided to get Joe to do the job. I don't know if it will remain this perfect over time, but on most drywall jobs I an find a shadow of a screw somewhere on the wall to get a bearing on stud position. Not on these wall, thankfully Joe's work is top quality and I will have to work a little harder to find those studs for my trim work.

Joe was punctual, efficient, and flexible with scheduling. The work was extremely fair for the price. He was able to correct many issues with the existing drywall that was already hung. The job took part of 5 days, anywhere from 2 hours to 6 hours depending upon task being performed. Joe hardly ever stopped for a break at all, but at the same time was ensuring the job was done completely and correctly without rushing. I would not hesitate to hire Joe again. Only caveat is that Joe does not do email as a form of communication. So you'll need to pick up the phone to get a hold of him, but he always answers or returns calls promptly.

In short, Joe did an excellent job with the drywall. He was on time and made sure he came ready to work. He is a friendly individual whom I had many pleasant conversations with when he was at the house. My two daughters were with me when Joe was over at times and he got along with the girls famously. He would make jokes, talk to them about their school, and just ask them how there summer was going in general. The girls enjoyed joking with him. However, now to the overall work experience. Joe did an incredible job. He worked the job by himself and I was amazed at how quickly he had the drywall hung in place. Once done he moved just as fast at taping the seams and coating the surface. He has been working in this medium for 30 years and the quality of his work shows that he knows the material and how to do the job right. If I ever know of someone needing a drywall job performed, you can bet that I will pass Joe's name onto that person and encourage them to utilize his services. I found Joe to be conscientious, hard working, friendly, willing to answer questions, and overall a nice gentlemen. Also, the basement was always clean at the end of his work. This includes the sanding on the drywall which always creates dust. Joe never left the work site a mess at the end of the day. I would recommend Joe to any individual who asked. He knows his work and what needs to be done. The price was more then fair for the quality of the work performed. I can also say that if we ever have another drywall job to be completed we will definitely be in contact with Joe.

Our overall experience was EXCELLENT! Joe managed to transform 2 attic rooms into beautiful living space/ bedrooms. He works efficiently and quickly and cleaned up after each visit. I'm a stay at home mom with 3 children. Joe was respectful of our space and courtious with our children. I felt comfortable enough leaving to run errands while he worked at the house. Hands down I would recommend him over and over to family and friends looking for a sheet rocker. This is not just a handy man Joe Medaglia is a professional it shows in his work and demeanor. I just wanted to share our experience as I feel when you find someone trustworthy and experienced in this industry its worth sharing. Thanks.
