Provider threatened to go to lawyer and sue me because he violated contract and I had to fire them to get them off my property. The job was contracted for 30 days and seven weeks later provider still was unable to complete job. There was no certified electrician or plumber, contractor tried to install cheap inferior material, wired my rooms incorrectly and totally ruined my home where it became uninhabitable. Contractors employees stole my backup computer, ruined furniture and brand new doors. Contractor tried extorting money from me by stating they will not complete job unless I gave them $10,000 that was not scheduled until bathroom phase was complete, which never occurred . When confronted about stolen computer contractor stated my fault for letting in house. When confronted about damage to my new door and furniture contractor again stated my fault. When I fired contractor for blatant violation of contract, contractor indicated he was going to sue me for balance of contract even though they did not perform work contracted to do. Contractor hired workers they didn't even know and there was different workers every day. Be prepared to go to court if u hire this contractor. This contractor makes promises to install high quality material and installs second hand material or inferior materials. The contractor broke out load bearing walls without shoring up properly, wired lights and other appliances where they didn't work, left live wires hanging out of ceiling and walls, sheet rocked to hide junction boxes, and would not get permits because they knew their work would not be legal to code or would not work. Contractor piled debris outside my house to extent neighbors called city on me for eyesore and hazards. I had to remove debris myself because contractor or workers did not have truck and would not pay for dumpster. Workers were caught by me doing drugs and alcohol on premises. Contractor installed incorrect size bow window and tore roof off bow window 4 times and still did not get it correct where it leaks and is not insulated. It cost me over $20,000 to correct mistakes and shoddy work performed by contractor.

All the work was done professionally. They finished the job on time, and the basement still looks beautiful - 6 years later. We even gave them a key to our home.

I highly recommend WJ Posavek. They are knowledgable, professional, and honest. They take the hassle out of remodelling and are perfectionists. Bill, the owner, is accessible and very hands on. I would not use anyone else.

When we received the bill for almost $450 I nearly fell off my chair. They had been in the house for barely 2 hours. We called up to the company only to hear from one of the Posavek's that they did us a favor even coming to our house in such short order, and this kind of job is really not worth their while. When describing the details of the bill they tried to charge me for work they did not do - that being for removal of the drywall and insulation material - interestingly we already had our own dumpster on site that they used. Unprofessional to say the least. We finally negotiated a final payment of $370, ridiculous for the work they did. I will never use this firm again.

"Unfortunately this Angie’s List complaint was only recently brought to our attention. We were absolutely shocked to read this. We are a no pressure company in our sales approach. We have won 20 awards for Professional Excellence with the Lehigh Valley Builders Association in 15 different remodeling categories. We have also won 2009, 2010 and 2011 Best in Bethlehem for Single Family Home Remodeling from the U.S. Commerce Association. We have hundreds of referral letters from satisfied, happy customers. Please feel free to visit our website at www.posavek.com to see some of the letters and portfolio of our work. This situation definitely falls under the category of "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished". At the time we did this "emergency work" they needed, we had a back log of over 2 months of work. The only reason we sent any of our employees to the jobsite was because the hardwood flooring company that referred us said that they needed help. Obviously, the homeowners are not familiar with material language in the remodeling/construction field. As they state it the first paragraph, the sheetrock was removed and in the second paragraph, they state that we did not remove the drywall. Sheetrock and drywall is the same thing. It is obvious from the picture supplied by the homeowner that we did remove the drywall, aka sheetrock, because you can see the water damage that existed in the home. As far as being "led to believe they would help correct the problem", the owner of WJ Posavek & Son personally went to the home with an employee, at no charge, and met a Dryvit specialist to assess the problem and provide an estimate. The homeowner did not choose us for the estimate nor did they respond in any manner to the estimate, so their assumption that we would correct the problem is inaccurate. A further note to this story, the owner of WJ Posavek & Son spoke with the hardwood flooring company, which referred him, about this complaint and learned that not only did we not get paid in full, but the hardwood flooring company was not paid in full by the homeowner either. Our bill was $420.00 (not $450.00, as stated) and there was no negotiating regarding the amount to pay, they simply did not pay the bill in full and paid, what they felt like paying, extremely late."
