Shively's Moving & Storage

Our family has had the benefit of Shively's help with moving household goods over the course of many years, and we would not choose to work with another firm. Their employees are diligent, organized and a pleasure to work with. Shively's is the best!

Everything went great. The packers were here and I had a lot to pack. I have a lot of valuables and it went flawless. The move had to wait until accommodations could be made and I was very happy with everything. Kelly is the epitome of the best customer service with communication and being accommodating. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and I would pay Shively's again to do it.

We had to have our sump drainage system replaced in our basement, and we needed to have the items removed completely and then brought back after the job was complete. Shively's was great! They arrived on time, were very professional and courteous. Both times they were here, they got the job done very efficiently. They were also careful with the items and packed them in a storage unit outside our home. When the time came to move it all back, they got it done, again, on time and very efficiently. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. Great work!

It went well. Five men and two trucks. Arrived on time. Very professional and careful with our furniture. Moved during Covid pandemic and all were masked throughout move. Felt safe under the conditions. This was the second move with Shively, the first was 27 years ago. The quality in both moves was consistently good. While the crew who moved us were great, hard workers, our job was grossly underestimated. We were told it would take seven hours with one truck. After over 14 hours, we asked them to send someone back the next day to finish putting outer furniture back together. Had the job been estimated properly, they would have sent two trucks and it would have still been over seven hours.

We were very impressed with movers from Shively's. The guys were professional, careful and efficient. I highly recommend them and would definately use them again.

From the start to the finish, thanks to Shively's we had the best move we've ever had. We moved a large household from one part of town to another.  They were professional, courteous, friendly, and very careful with our things. For example, they noticed that an antique table was a bit wobbly and applied wood glue before wrapping it, so the table is actually in better shape after than before the move.  They were also quite fast and came in under budget. At the new house, they put everything just where I wanted it and were flexible and accommodating about the fact that our builder was still there and there was some equipment to work around. Not too mention three stories and some large items going on the third flood.  I would not hesitate to use them again.

We have moved 7 times in the last 9 years. We have used a different mover each time and this is the first time I have been happy with the service from start to finish. I have already recommended Shively's to a friend who is moving soon and would use them again if we have to move.

We've used five different movers over the last 14 years. Shively's was the only one that I'd recommend without hesitation to my friends.  They were prompt, helpful, and caused no damage to the contents or the houses involved.
They started work at 8 a.m. and continued working until 10 p.m., when they finished moving in and placing the last pieces.  
The worst part of moving is figuring out where everything should go on the destination end.  The crew had helpful suggestions and were patient when we asked them to change where we wanted some major pieces to go The crew for our move had been with the company 8+ years and worked very well as a team.
Their estimate for the cost of the move was a bit optimistic, but, given the amount of work they did and the number of items them moved, I was OK with the additional cost.  Also, this move was based on actual time on the job and not the number of items moved.  The big plus to this approach: they took the time to make sure we were happy with the move.
This move was within the same municipality.  Shively's specializes in local moves in the Lehigh Valley, PA, area. My decision to go with them resulted from friends who had used Shively over the years and NOT Angie's list.  Every one of them was extremely pleased. The biggest beef in the Angie's List write-up was a claim that Shively's was NOT insured.  THIS IS NOT TRUE. Shively's provided a coverage certificate from one of the most respected insurance agencies in our area in advance of the actual move. We didn't have to ask for it.
Bottom line:  A big thumbs up for Shively's Moving & Storage.

It went beautifully.  They showed up on time and were fast and efficient.  They even provided an extra mover for no extra cost.  They didnt break anything and were especially careful because of the weather/snow.  Shively's Moving was professional all the way through.

Pretty well, they arrived on time; reviewed what we would like done and did it. Pretty quickly. I wasn't planning on bringing the pictures initially so when we asked them if we could move them we weren't sure if it would be ok. It was. They took it all in stride.
