It really bothered me that the entire front of the 1880s town houses in our row have slate but for some reason asphalt shingles were installed above our door. Lou quoted replacing the shingles with slate and the price was less than I feared. I am really happy with the look of the installed slate and matches much better with the look of the house. Really impressive job.

Lou really knows what is expected in the historic district of Bethlehem which makes it really easy to be sure that the appropriate materials are being used. A big group of guys showed up on Saturday morning and started working on the roof. It was always a concern that the wood on the roof wasn't great and they suggested that it would be worth adding a layer or plywood on top. I was expecting that this might be the case and they quickly got the wood and the project was done in a few hours. The roof looks very good and no leaks.
As a side note, Lou did work for the previous owner of our house (and also does work for our neighbors) which is why we started using him. Although he is busy and it can take some time for the project to get started, he is always aware of potential roof leak issues and will deal with them immediately. For example, the roof that was replaced was leaking and we were having brick work done. He put up a tarp to cover the original roof while the brick work was being done as a good temporary measure (showed up right before it started raining). He is really concerned about preventing any damage to the house and his prices are fair.

Everything turned out well, and it was a great experience. They had the least expensive estimate for the job yet used the same materials that other companies were going to use. Furthermore, the crew arrived on time, was courteous and friendly, and didn't leave behind any messes. Ultimately, they did an excellent job, and I'd highly recommend their services.

they didn't schedule my job for almost a month and they didn't exactly show up when they said they would. Once they started the job it got done quickly.

The repairs look amazing and they were quick with their work and getting out to fix the facia. They stated they would contact me when they were free to set up a time to repair once I agreed and showed up less than a week after agreement was made. They worked for several hours and left no mess behind.

It started with a home visit that included choosing the style of roofing materials and other costs associated with the project. Due to some weather constraints and normal wait time it was a couple weeks before the job was started. Once the project began, there was plenty of help and my roof was replaced in 48hrs. The guys were great and would highly recommend them to anyone.

As with any contractor, work may not happen as quickly as you may wish, but I believe it's all been worth the wait when the results are consistently so excellent.
