The finished product is great. A little disappointed with the "landscape" portion, was to have input in the plantings but didn't. Also the edging changed from original design and I was not consulted about that change. Will I hire again needs a 'Maybe' response block...

The clean-up and tree-planting were completed promptly and professionally. The rain we had afterward, however, resulted in a run-off in an area where the landscapers worked in our back yard. They came within 10 days and promptly repaired the damage.

A1 completed my paver patio project back 2008. 5 years later and it still looks amazing. It's the focal point of my house. We still get compliments when people see it. Mark and his crew were very professional from start to finish and stayed well within the budget. At the time, I was considering the pros and cons of a real paver patio vs. a stamped concrete patio made to look like pavers. The only reason I was even entertaining the idea of stamped concrete was because I was concerned that the pavers would settle unevenly and there would be lots of maintenance. I learned that these were not valid issues so long as the pavers are installed properly from the beginning. I received several estimates from different hardscape contractors. A1 was not the cheapest. I selected them because Mark had the best ideas and pointed out things the others didn't...such as the placement and location of the firepit and the sitting wall. He spoke a lot about proper grading, draining and even maintenance. This was all on his first visit to quote the project! I knew from the beginning that he wouldn't cut corners, was using the best materials, etc. The blocks he used are nearly twice as thick as the ones you would find in the and quot;boxand quot; stores and they don't fade like those ones do. I was just looking at some pictures I took right after it was installed. They look exactly the same today even though they are exposed to full sun. Over the years I have seen other people's paver patios that were either installed incorrectly by a contractor or the homeowner themselves. Those patios look terrible. This is NOT a project a weekend warrior should attempt. Hire a professional or don't do it al all. I highly recommend A1 Hardscape for anyone looking to have a paver patio installed.

They have completed about 3/4 of the work, but they just stopped coming. They won't answer or return phone calls and the work has not been finished. If they are busy and can't come out I can understand that, but to not answer or respond at all is just bad business. When they actually showed up to do the work, they did a good job, but they never finished.
