XCEL CANINE TRAINING CENTER

She told me that I needed private lessons and we can try the following week and she never got back to me.I waited a couple of weeks, just in case something came up and tried to contact her with NO response from her at all. After a couple more attempts and phone message later with a co worker.......NOTHING!  Very UNPROFESSIONAL! Even if she thought she could not handle my big dog, she should have replied!

I have taken 3 agility classes with my dog here and the trainers are very knowledgeable about what triggers and motivates my dog. They are observant, patient, professional, knowledgeable, and definitely dog people. There is an array of classes form basic obedience, canine good citizen, agility and everything in between. Machelle (owner) has taken a keen interest in the (rescue) issues with my dog and how to address/overcome them. Best is that Libby is always excited when we tun into the business park and loves her time here. I plan to continue with Xcel in other training ventures as well.

The puppy training went very well. Our instructor Storm and Michele and their assistants were very professional and knowledgeable. The classes were on Monday nights at 7:00 - 8:00 pm for 6 weeks.
We started with basic commands and situations like 'leave it' with more commands added each week. We also reviewed and worked on commands each week from the previous weeks.
There were about 9-10 other owners and puppies in the class.
The training room was large allowing us to spread out enough to try to keep our dogs focus on training and not the other dogs.
All of the people working at Xcel were very nice and would answer any questions on any puppy issues you were having and gave ideas on solutions.
I did stop in a few weeks after the training to purchase a new collar and Linda who was working there took the time to fit the collar and also give me some good ideas on the 'biting/nipping issue' we have been dealing with.
Gracie and I had a fun time and will be looking to take another class soon.

I paid for an initial private evaluation of my dog prior to the beginning of the basic obedience class to evaluate her readiness for it, and the trainer who evaluated Maddie (Deb C.) was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. She offered great suggestions and recommended that I go ahead and take the class. Deb was the primary instructor for the Saturday class that I took and Maddie and I learned sit, down, stay, down stay, heel, and basic good manners. I was thrilled with the results and the improved relationship between my dog and I (practice was required!) so we signed up for the CGC class.

We are currently taking the CGC class and I am progressing in my handling skills, and Maddie's learning new behaviors and becoming a better dog to be around. Deb is also teaching this class. Her style is positive reinforcement, but she approaches each dog as an individual regarding their strengths and weaknesses. Many breeds of dogs have been represented in the classes I have taken (mostly purebreds, though mine is a mixed-breed).

I am looking forward to advancing our training even further at Xcel in the Rally class.

While no puppy play was allowed, having a group class allowed our puppies to learn how to behave around other dogs The instructors were knowledgeable, experienced, and provided the perfect balance of individual attention and class instruction

Very nice class, well organized and presented, in a clean and comfortable facility. At least one assistant was present along with the instructor so everyone got individual attention. We covered basic obedience commands (sit, down, come, etc.), controlled walking, and other practical behaviors (I love "leave it!"). For those who want to continue with their dogs, other training classes are available.
