I originally contacted Big Fish to investigate the dripping sounds I thought I heard during some recent heavy downpours. scheduled an initial assessment visit- someone went into the attic to check for evidence of water damage/leaks, and also flew their drone over the roof to look for any obvious signs of a problem.

It all went off without a hitch. They showed up on time, were very courteous, did a great installation and left the place spotless.

We are very pleased with the look and craftsmanship of our new roof which was installed by the Big Fish Contracting Company. In addition, we were impressed by the GAF Timberline HD Golden Pledge Warranty which included 25 year workmanship and 50 year material coverage, which was the decisive factor in choosing Big Fish over the other estimates we received. An added benefit was to pass the warranty on to the next owner if needed. The process from estimate to completion was very efficient with Ed Brown (Company Representative) quickly responding to our request through Angie’s List by immediately coming out to inspect our roof prior to prompt emailing his detailed estimate to us. Throughout the installation, Ed kept us abreast of the steps completed via Email and photos via the use of drones while upon project completion, the project supervisor reviewed the work involved while answering any questions that we had. We were drawn to Big Fish based on a recommendation from a family member whose condominium ,including others in his complex, also had their roof replaced.

Because the roofing tiles on my father's home were asbestos, it was quite difficult to find a company who was able to remove and dispose of the tiles since asbestos is considered a hazardous material. The roofer I had used for my house wasn't certified for asbestos. I found Big Fish after doing a "google search". When I submitted an on-line request for a quote, they got back to me very quickly and arranged for someone to go to my father's to look at the roof right away. A drone was used to take a series of photographs - both closeup views and long shots. Those images were sent to me and clearly showed the various "trouble" areas. Along with the thirty plus photographs emailed was a detailed explanation of what all was entailed in order to do the entire roofing job. An estimated total cost was provided. (This had to be estimated because lumber was required to replace water damaged areas, and until the old tiles were up, they couldn't say with certainty how much lumber was needed.) The Big Fish price was reasonable for the job needing done. A representative from Big Fish telephoned to go over the quote with me and answer any questions I may have had. Later, a question DID occur to me and I had contact information for the rep from Big Fish. I was able to get in touch, and he replied right away. This was a bonus... having direct access. One other roofer I contacted was not so easy to communicate with during the quote process, and in fact changed the time for their representative's visit after I had set everything up, creating somewhat of a problem. Basically, with Big Fish everything was able to be handled via on-line and telephone, even the selection of the new roofing shingles. This was very helpful as I work, and would have had to drive over to my father's house otherwise. When Big Fish did arrive to do the roof, the process went smoothly. The crew began around 9:00 am and the whole job was done before 5:00 pm... the house, the front porch roof and the smaller back porch roof. Mid-day, photos were sent showing their progress. Once the job was completed, the workers went inside and showed all the different pictures to my elderly father -- who is wheelchair bound. He was thrilled. When the crew was talking with my father they were very patient, polite and respectful, listening to some of his WWII stories along with his comments about the roof. My sister has seen the new roof and says it looks great. We are all very pleased.

The Big Fish Contracting Company of Pittsburgh is the worst company I have ever dealt with and 6 months later we still have a hole in our ceiling and they're still refusing to fix it or pay us to have someone else fix it. We've paid them over $13,000 and we're going to be out an additional $2000 because of this absolutely ridiculous situation. -10298471941/10 WILL NEVER RECOMMEND. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN! Here's a quick rundown of just SOME of the things we have gone through SINCE OCTOBER: - Extremely poor communication, they did not do the job in the way that was described to me and that was my fault, of course. - Gaco (silicone) application on our metal roofing was done so poorly that I could see the old roof with my own untrained eyes, even though I was told it would have multiple layers and the thickness of a quarter. When someone came to "fix" it, they dripped the black silicone onto my porch and stairs. Still there btw. - Left visible starter shingles, exposed nails, and only did dormer step flashing on the spots visible from the street. The ones that were not able to be seen from the street were not done, and we would have never known if our contractor hadn't gone onto the roof. - Roofers completely damaged window framing we had just completed by a different contractor just weeks prior to their arrival (not included in the $14k+ accounted for above), causing an active water leak that then leaked into our interior ceiling and caused damage. - Verbally approved to have our contractor come do an emergency repair only to NEVER pay him for the work. - When they came back to "fix" the window again, they left trash all over my roof and yard - no walkthrough done or any communication with me whatsoever. - Surprise! They still didn't fix it. They have now come back on multiple occasions to "fix" the situation while continuing to leave HOLES in my house. - They have accepted fault on MULTIPLE occasions, yet are continuing to refuse to fix the situation. - Spoke to me with complete disrespect (maybe because I'm a woman? IDK) and called me a liar saying that there was no way there could have been a leak because they checked the past weather and they didn't see rain in the forecast. - Bullying and unreceptive attitude towards any and all concerns, and then not calling back or responding to us when they said they would. - Eventually, we had to have our contractor come back AGAIN to stop the active leak as they were unable to do so in the AT LEAST 5 visits they made. - Our project manager offered to do the interior work FOR FREE, but Big Fish will not allow him to do so. AGAIN, this has been going on since OCTOBER and it is still not resolved and we now owe $2000 in repairs that they are unwilling to help with.

Very efficient- completed roof installation in one day!

There were a few hiccups with the scheduling process. Not a big deal. They were down a technician because of illness. The owner of the company called me personally to apologize and explain the circumstances. Once I was re-scheduled the tech showed up on time and completed the job in a few hours. All in all I was very pleased with the work and would use Big Fish again.

I would highly recommend Big Fish! They completed my roof in one day, working very hard until everything was cleaned up. It is a big roof and and very high up, so I was impressed with their work ethic and quality. I got pictures along the way as well, which was cool. They even accommodated a weird closing situation that I had on my house. They went out of their way to really help me. I would definitely hire them again.

All work was done quickly and professionally. Extra care was taken to fix things that weren’t in the original estimate. Work was documented via photos available on their website (before, after and during the project).

They were very professional. We were updated about expected date of services, were given access to photos of the job as it was being executed and calls during each workday. The workers were polite and cleaned up well at the end of each day.

Very professional. Spotted the problem right away. Obviously very experienced. Definitely will use them again if required.

Tyler was the point person who came to price the project. Not sure where the misunderstanding occurred about the size of downspout, but the wrong size was put on. I emailed Tyler and he had the installer back in a few days. Actually came back twice, but both times there was no excuse, no haggling. They just came and fixed it. Awesome follow-up, the best.

Very pleased with work. Crew was very professional and worked hard at the job. My questions were answered and my concerns were taken care of. One of the few times I can honestly say that the work was done right the first time. Thank you Big Fish.

EXCELLENT! Highly recommend this company. Professional from their courteous front line representatives to the staff who came out to assess and correct the issue. Punctual, professional, courteous. They cleaned up when done, took time to answer questions and we are definitely hiring them again!

Mark was very easy to deal with and was responsive to all questions and concerns. The guys did a good job installing new 3D shingle roof although the work was spread out over more days than intended, and some of the items were not complete when when started a new job. However, they worked very hard while here and they did come back within 3-4 days to complete in total. I would use them again.

Super! Quick and efficient.

The BIG FISH Contracting Company did a very nice job replacing the roof on my ranch house in West Mifflin in one long day, on July 12, 2018. They showed up on time, early in the morning. All the workers were courteous and professional. They worked very hard, continuously, on a very hot, humid, sunny day. They cleaned up and tossed the old roof debris in the dumpster, and had the dumpster removed from my driveway the next morning. I would highly recommend Ben Fisher, the owner of The BIG FISH Contracting Company, to you. Both Ben Fisher and his foreman for my job, Jason Paternoster, were a pleasure to work with.

Jason, who was the project manager, was exceptional in terms of his knowledge and going through process of selecting the right shingle. We got pricings from 4 different suppliers and they were competitive with their prices. We have a large home, so it took them one day to take off the roof and install the new roof the following day. They were responsive when we reached back out to them when the work was completed. We have already recommended this company to our friends as well, who have already used their services too.
