The service was excellent. I called to inquire about the deal and what type of humidifier was being installed. The call was very informative, and the product was very reasonably priced compared to other providers. I then purchased the Angie's Deal and called to set up the installation. The installation took place within a week, and we couldn't be more pleased. Our heating bills have decreased and our home is much more comfortable with the humidifier. The installer showed my husband exactly how to set it and what to look for incase any adjustments need made. It was very informative, and I would recommend this provider to anyone. Thank you!

It was excellent. They came out in the middle of the night, within the hour, on a saturday night. Very professional and got my furnace working. They had to come back a couple days later they came back out and did a thorough inspection of my furnace. And did further repairs

I have dealt with this company for the past fifteen years.  They are very professional and do comprehensive checks of my HVAC system.  I have confidence in their service and  would recommend them to anyone.

Leaks were fixed timely.  My only concerns/question is how these leaks occurred.  Each year I have both my AC/Heater unit service and never had a problem.  I made the decision to upgrade my heater last year and had a new unit installed by this vendor.  Very professional.  During the install though, I noticed the installation team having problems in replacing the coil back into position.  Words like "forced" or "heavily manipulated" come to mind. when this was repositioned.  Ironically, the next year (when we really needed to use the AC unit) there were several leaks and breaks near this coil.  While it could be a coincidence, I will always wonder.

He was very friendly and fixed our furnace very quickly. I had found a coupon on Angie's list so I asked him if I could use it. And he wasn't aware of the coupon. so he called in about it and whoever he talked to wasn't aware of it either but they still accepted it. He was very nice and I would call him again.

The very large boiler he installed was not at all what were were lead to believe we were getting. Not to mention that they routed the exhaust pipes out of the FRONT our our house without permission and after explicit instructions not to do so. They were so lazy that they did not even remove the old expansion tank and just hooked the new one right below it where you could hit your head on it. I was appalled when I saw all of this and immediately stopped my payment at the bank and called Mr Hafer. He and his colleague came to my house and acted like I was crazy for thinking the installation and boiler were awful. In fact he even told me I was being difficult.
My next step was to get a second and third opinion which confirmed that the installation was well below industry standard and that the boiler was much too large for what our house required. This particular brand of boiler, while very good, is new to the Pittsburgh market and therefore limited companies know how to service them. Hafer is smart there securing his future service calls...he'll also put his business sticker on anything with pipes coming out of it in your house while he is there so look out for that.
Finally I gave Mr Hafer the opportunity to put the situation right. He told me he was going to charge me another $1000 for that. I told him that I would not pay any more money to rectify his own errors. His team came back and installed a smaller boiler,  removed the old expansion tank and routed the pipes out of the back of our house.
It is now a couple of weeks later and our boiler started making a horrible noise like a freight train and then stopped working this past weekend. A rep from the manufacturer had to come to check the boiler and they said that the diagnostics tests (to test various gas levels) were never done and that the levels were wrong. So now I've had to pay more money out of pocket for the errors made by this greedy unscrupulous man and his company. 

They came on time, it took two days to install.  Lots of lines outside of the house which were a little more noticeable than I expected.  However, the units worked wonderfully and our home is comfortable.

Hafer was contracted by the Home Team to do an inspection of the heating system as part of a home inspection prior to sale. He claimed that the heating system was emmiting carbon monoxide at an excessive level. Meanwhille the system was inspected two days prior by a different company and found to be completely safe. After the bad report from Hafer, yet another company was brought in and they found the system to be completely within specs with CO levels at 1 ppm or lower in every room in the house and directly next to the furnace. Also, to add insult to injury, Hafer removed the prior company's stickers from the furnace and the water heater and replaced them with his own. In my opinion, Hafer is a scam artist and was trying to say the furnace needed replaced and he would replace it. I would avoid this company at all cost.

Had a water leak that poured on to our furnace. Called LS Hafer to check furnace. Appointment was scheduled for the next day between 1pm and 3pm. Office called at 11:30am to see if technicians could come early. They arrived at noon, checked the furnace for water damage and performed our annual furnace inspection. Technicians were great. Friendly and neat.

Everything went well. Since it's August, we won't get to test out the humidifying system for several months, so I can't comment on how it works, but the installation portion went well. I was able to schedule installation within two days of purchasing this Big Deal. Installer was a few minutes late, which is understandable since it was morning rush hour.

After getting five estimates, and determining which system would fit our needs and budget, we decided to remain with Carrier. Mr Lauson Hafer was very detailed in his research in determining which Carrier system would fit our home. We decided on Wednesday the 21st and Mr Hafer said since it was between cooling and heating "seasons", the crew could start on Thursday, September 22.  A two man crew arrived about 9:15 am. That day we were given a lesson on the new programmable thermostat in detail. The crew arrived on Friday morning about the same time. There some issues with the placing of the a/c unit, (due to our small lot and driveway) but it worked out well. The crew cleaned up the area both inside and outside. They also gave important information concerning both the furnace and the a/c unit and answered all of my questions.

When I went to turn my air on for the 1st time this summer, I could see the fan was not working in the unit. I was told I needed to completely replace my entire unit (including electric heat pump) by another company in the area for approximately $4000 to $8000 depending on the unit. I called L.S. Hafer. They came when they said they would. The man worked on my A/C unit for approximately 2 hours and told me I just needed a new condensor. He fixed it and it has been working like charm since. Very happy with the service and honesty of this company. 

They do a fine job and I’m very happy with them. Their price seemed reasonable for the work they performed last time. I would rate them high overall. I would use their services in future.

Our 17 year old AC stopped running yesterday. After having unsatisfactory experiences the past three times with Controlled ClimateI Systems (Cannonsburg), I decided to call Hafer since they installed this unit, and also our 15 year old furnace, and I had always been very happy with them. I had only stopped using Hafer because we put on an addition that required a second furnace/ac, and just continued to use the company that the architect used to install them. I called L.S. Hafer this morning, the two repairmen came this afternoon. They were professional, pleasant, and went right to work, diagnosed the problem and fixed it within 30 minutes. Since this AC unit is so old, we don't know how long it will last, but it should get us through the rest of this season at least. When we need a new unit, I am going to call L.S. Hafer!

Contractor arrived on time to provide original estimate. My wife really liked Mr. Hafer from the start. When work was authorized contractor added our work to the schedule promptly and quickly. Workers arrived on time and were courteous and efficient. The work was exceptionally neat - they didn't leave debris lying around at any time, even though it was a two-day job. Holes cut in the foundation for new intake and outlet pipes and A/C lines were neat and were properly sealed when the work was complete. Contractor took steps to ensure that the new thermostat was properly programmed and working efficiently. They also took the time to clean up the installation I had performed myself on a humidifier a year or two back and make sure that unit was functioning properly. I could not possibly be happier with the work they performed.

The maintenance was thorough and I was charged what they quoted on the phone. The crew arrived on time and cleaned up after themselves. Only one add on cost as described above. As this is a very old house, the additional cost was not more than expected. We were happy with the service.

We have an ongoing contract with Hafer. They are always helpful and prompt. They took the time to explain the problem and, in case it happened again, a temporary solution to hold us over until they could come back out. Excellent customer service.

Everything has worked fine since. He answered within 30 minutes and arrived in about 3 hours.

I am very happy with the heater and the experience I had with them. There was just a couple of things that I wished that they would have done differently as I had an older big gas pipe already on the wall, that instead of working with, they built a new smaller pipe next to which left the old pipe exposed. They suggested I put a box cover over the older pipe. Their price was a little high, but I was in a hurry to get this done. When they installed a vent through the brick wall, I also felt the brick work was rough looking when they were done.

The best thing about them is that they stand behind their work one hundred percent. They work very hard and are on the job until it's finished. They have been servicing our boiler since they installed it. They have done us justice.

I thought that they were very expensive, but they did an excellent job. To be honest, I paid $2200 for a furnace I could have gotten installed for $1800. I guess that is the way that goes. They were very professional though. They came in uniforms and everything. They cleaned everything up and they had it all done in one day.
