Our house is older and the doors in the basement are very narrow. We couldn't even get our new washer/dryer into the house. Jeff was doing work for my mom so we thought we'd give him a try. Our initial interaction was positive. He came over to give us an estimate and even knocked out one of the jam for us so we could get our W/D into the laundry room. We were psyched. Unfortunately, things went downhill very quickly from there. He became totally unresponsive. Would tell us he'd be out "next week" to work on the doors and wouldn't show, wouldn't call. This back and forth went on for about 6 wks until I finally told him we were going out for other bids. I would have fired him then, but was concerned that he'd already purchased the doors. He finally called back to set up a time to install the doors. It still took him about 2 wks longer than he initially advised, and even then, he came late in the day and only partially completed one of the doors. We just fired him. He wanted us to pay 2/3 of his initial quoted price even though the work was less than half way completed. The way he conducted himself was unprofessional and honestly, disrespectful. If the job was too small for him, he shouldn't have taken it in the first place. He may do good work (on larger jobs that he deems worthy of his time), but he's proven to be untrustworthy. Do not use him.
Description of Work: He was supposed to tear out and install two new doors in our basement. One going from the finished portion into the laundry room, the other going from the laundry room into the garage.
