This was by far and away the worst experieence I have ever had with a contractor in my life.
I hired Bienkowski Painting to paint and do minor construction on our historic home.  He was verbally abusive ot his workers in my presence.  He made his workers work on Saturday while he took the day off.  His workmanship was shoddy.  For example, he modified the kitchen cabinets and sloppily never checked to see that the door would clear when opened.  It had to be ripped out and redone.  His workers put up molding on a Saturday while he was not available and pulled out a security wire.  He wanted to charge me to fix the damage.  Part of the scope of work included putting up a water barrier on a bathroom wall that has moisture seepage; he told his workers to skip this step and that I would never know. These are just some of the issues with this firm.
The worst part of the whole experience was that we agreed  on a figure for the change orders and shook hands on it, a week later he doubled that figure by presenting a very sloppy and unprofessional hand written document.  He threatened my personal safety and to actually rip apart my home when I objected .  I fired him on the spot.  His whole work team came to work for me directly as they did not respect him and he treated them poorly.
For anybody considering a project in the Philadelphia suburbs, stay away from this firm!

Project went very well, and the room was entirely transformed.  He did the work in 4 days, and worked a full day each day.  Walt obtained all the materials and knew how to keep the job going.  He also hauled away the old dry wall and old closet doors.

He is probably the best painter in the area.  He is really good.  He is very reliable, honest, and communicates well.
