Patio Enclosures

It took way too long! Contracted room in August permit approved in October. Room never started until February! It is now March and still not completed! Communication was horrible! I had to make the call to get updates! Then I was not spoke to as a valued customer.

Not well, it wasn't measured properly so we had 4 panels across the back which did not line up with the existing beams which obstructed our view. Every panel had screens on top with fencing on the bottom. Every panel had 15 plus scratches on the ballisters. The metal bottom of the entry way to the porch was left rough and could have easily injured someones foot These issues have since been fixed. Now the screen door lock does not stay on the door I contacted them today to fix this.

From initial sales presentation through permitting, ordering, and installation, customer must allow three months time. End result was very satisfactory. Highly recommended.

Patio Enclosures By Great Day Improvements is a patio enclosure company that sets up a booth at all of the local home shows and is known as a local company.  The initial meetings with Tom were, of course, fabulous.  The agreement was to do all of the work as outlined above.   I asked about the electrical work because I did not have a contractor and he told me no problem that they have electricians that have worked with them for over 20+ years and that they normally supply an electrician but that I would pay the electrician separately.  I agreed.
4-6 Week Delay in railing - I was told railing would be installed before the 4th of July (I wanted to use the deck and would have small kids over so the railing was critical).  I would send emails and call Tom and unless I did this, I would not get any updates.  Had I knew it would take an additional 4-6 weeks, I would have sought out a local railing supplier but in the original meeting with Tom, he raved about the relationship he had with this railing company and that it would take about 4 weeks.  It took about 10 weeks.  When railing arrived, some of the railing caps were missing.  When the missing caps arrived, Tom came out and installed the caps, they were forced onto the post and are not leveled.
Electrician.  Once Patio Enclosures was paid for the three season room and the railing, it became very difficult to receive a message back from them.  They sent out the electrical contractor to my home in June and he promised to send an estimate of the electrical cost when I followed up with the electrician, he gave me the run a round and said he was waiting for Patio Enclosures.  I sent emails to Tom and it took him weeks to get back to me.   I have followed up way too many times with Tom about an electrical contractor, the last time I followed up was on August 8.  It is now October, and I have not heard from him.
Part of why I chose Patio Enclosures was because Tom assured me of great customer service and that working with his company, I could rely on them to select an electrician to complete the project without having to do this research myself.  My recommendation for Tom is to be more upfront about promises, follow up on open items, and don't make promises that you can't deliver.  Had I known that it would be this difficult, I could have chosen another contractor that I have worked with before from Angies' List who made a bid for the same work.

The salesman, James, was great. We worked together  on figuring out a design that worked with our little house. The workmen were prompt and fast. However, there were things that the salesman agreed would be done and they groused about it. It should've been settled with the workers before they came and we shouldn't have had to deal with the attitude. They did, for some addition money, reattach awnings - we hadn't arranged for that and we were glad to have it done.
They did not finish the windows. After they wrapped them, they didn't seal them again so this winter a breeze was coming in until my husband worked on it. When we called to ask to have it done, James informed us that the NJ office had closed. We called the number he gave us to follow up on the job, and the messages were never answered.
The porch is great and really makes the house look good. The job was done well (except for sealing the windows) and they were very fast and the construction caused little or no inconvenience. It was so great to have it be so easy.  So it's unfortunate that it didn't finish up well.
The salesman, James Kelley, was really good - very helpful and available whenever we had any questions or concerns.

It's so beautiful and peaceful out there. I just love my porch. They did a little extra; they even skirted the porch. My neighbors are all so jealous of it! It was difficult to work the manager and the sales person. They need to work on dealing with people and they didn't always show up when they'd said. They went on vacation a lot and were hard to reach. It was aggravating to work them, but the workers themselves were fabulous, always on time and wonderful. They did everything exactly right and cleaned up after themselves very well, too.

The gate part of my fence was hooked onto the original wood porch. I asked for them to hook the gate up to a pole, but they didn't do that. I was surprised because they did everything else I'd asked. I just would really like the gate fixed like they said they'd do. I'd use them again if we had an agreement that they would be responsive to my needs.

All went well. The end result was an exterior porch changed into a glass enclosed room for year around use.

The people they sent were very good, and very punctual. We had to wait a long time for it to be built, because of weather related issues, and we had to wait one month. The people in the office that ran things, weren't that good.

Met with a rep to discuss enclosing an outdoor deck. The products were not what I had in mind. I was looking for something more rustic and custom.

We were very pleased with the work.  They complete the work within the general time-frame they indicated they would and kept the final price the same as the original estimate.  They were right on the nose.  They were professional, knew what they were doing, worked hard and cleaned up well after themselves.  They tied the gutter system in to our existing downspouts.  There needed to be an on-site conversation to discuss a modification to the placement of the skylight and that modification went smoothly.  We were happy they brought up the needed modification and didn't just do the work without discussing it with us.  We were pleased with the price and were able to negotiate the price.  We are extremely happy with the finished project.  It looks like the porch has always been there.  We attempted to get other bids but no one else would touch the project.

In October of 2014, one year after installation, we had a problem with a gutter--which they installed--leaking onto our paver patio about 12 feet below.  The dripping actually was causing damage to the patio.  In addition, the door lock was not working.  I called and was advised that both problems were covered by my warrantee and that they would "put me on the list."  I have been calling every since and am always given the voice mail of the lady I need to speak with.  They have been unresponsive and I really cannot recommend them anymore.  The original work was great, but they are ignoring problems covered by the warrantee  Perhaps they are assuming I will go away or they can delay fixing this until after the warrantee expires.  They do not know me.

They completed the work quicker than expected.    They were extremely professional, cleaned up well after themselves and I couldn’t  be more pleased. They were the only contractor who would accept the job and they got the estimate back to us the same day.

They haven't done any work.  They never gave me a date to start as they said they had to get the plans approved first.  I paid them at the end of August.  They have my money and I have nothing.  There is other work that could be done without the plans that they aren't doing.

They were very courteous and very helpful from the salesperson right down to the office person. They were very professional and clean. They answered any of my questions and the guy explained everything. They were done in 3 days.  The porch now looks like it has the original spindles and we can enclose it with glass down the road if we want to. They also will come and replace anything in the next year or two. They were wonderful. I was really, really happy. My neighbor down the road used the same people and we had been admiring their work for years. They were very good and very easy to work with. Any time I called, they were professional, pleasant and very helpful. They were just excellent. They are true professionals and I love them. When they said they were coming, they were here.

They did a good job and I am satisfied.  They were very professional.  They put in the patio in a weekend.

They did beautiful work and completed on schedule. There was a slight mishap while the job took place, but they got someone out immediately to fix it and made it better than it was in the first place.

I could not ask for a better sun room!

We were happy with the result and the workmanship. However, we were not happy because they would not let us use the coupon we had for work; they didn't recognize the coupon because we were dedicated to them through our community. Our community wouldn't let us use anyone else and they said that our patio enclosure had to be exactly the same as the others. They were very helpful once they started but wanted to get the discount.

It was excellent. They are absolutely wonderful. The sales person we dealt with was super professional. I would refer them to anyone.

I am very pleased with it. It’s been quite a while since they did my front porch but I am very happy with it. I did get a couple estimates and their estimates were very good.

It turned out great. They really knew what they were doing. They were in and out within about 20 minutes. They were real experts about it.

They did a wonderful job. They were on time and they were polite. They did the job and then they left. The work was done several years back and we haven’t had a problem with it since.
