BLACK WALNUT BODY WORKS LTD

I was looking to have a plastic roof panel replaced on the car because of paint problems from the factory, far out of warranty, and a known issue on my car. The rear quarter panel, which had been dented and fixed from a previous owner, was also showing a few cracks and dents that I wanted fixed. Also any dents on the other side panel I wanted some paintless dent removal. The estimate process was pretty easy and I got an email PDF estimate after I took the car there and described what I needed. As it was unknown how much extra time removing the old roof would take, or how much work would be needed to prep the new piece, we agreed on a ballpark figure. I ordered the part and took it to their shop the week before I was scheduled. I dropped the car off on the appropriate day, and the job was going to take about a week. It actually turned into almost 2 weeks as they new panel needed extra work to make it look good. I was a little frustrated but wanted the job to be done right, as this is my "garage queen" sports car and it's also black, so any imperfections would really show up. While the work was going on they sent me a few digital pictures so I could see what was happening. When I got the car back, it was cleaned and washed. The total for the job was right around the original estimate. More importantly the work looks great. The side fender looks perfect, the paint is smooth and the seam blended into the door edge is nearly invisible. The new roof pane looks great and it's also super smooth, and the fit is nearly perfect. I am super-picky about this car, it's nearly a show car, and I'm really satisfied with the work. There was some extra cleaning I did after I got the car back, some dust in wheel wells or crevices when I took apart the tail light, that only a crazy car person would car about. If this were my everyday car I would never have noticed and the job would be A+. As it is, I'd still give the work an A+. The price was a little on the higher side than I expected but I did not want to take the chance and go with a less experienced shop. The owner has been in the car body business for a long time and really knows his stuff. In fact the day I dropped my part off the workers were in a training session on some new paint and painting techniques.

Not well. Stopped by in late June for an estimate and to schedule the repair work. Owner examined the work to be done. Said he could not fit us in for a couple of weeks. That was ok because the car was not driven often. Owner said he would call to schedule and never did. Called to check on status 5 weeks later. Again no call back. If you don't want our business just say so. Looking for another body shop on Angie's List now.

Great service, incredibly professional and upfront about time, costs, working with insurance company, etc. Can rent a car right there while yours is in the shop. We dealt primarily with the owner and he was fair and honest and in touch frequently with updates. We will take our car there again. It was a hassle-free experience and the car looks great!

It was a wonderful experience and it needed would go there again.
