AFFORDABLE HOME IMPROVEMENTS

4/3-Vince estimated new roof and siding. 4/11-Singed contract and gave 4K down payment. 4/26-Joe called to notify me work had been scheduled but didn't leave start date. Left 4 voice messages before Joe returned my call on 5/5 with an estimated start of mid June. 6/26-Called Joe for an update and he was finishing the current job, and had one more job to complete before mine. New estimated start was 2nd week of July. 7/22-Called Joe for an update and he returned my call the next day with an estimated start of a week or so. 7/30-Called Joe for update and he returned my call 8/4 hoping to start 8/18 or sooner. 8/13-Talked to Joe and he was hoping to start my job within the week. 8/21-Called Joe for an update on the 21st and 26th and he returned my call on the 27th stating materials would arrive on the 28th and work would begin on Thurs/Fri depending on weather. 8/29-Joe left message that his crew would start on Tues after Labor Day. NOTE: Weather was sunny Thurs & Fri. 9/2-Joe left voice message that some of his crew had too much Labor Day cheer and would start the job on Wed. 9/3-Came home from work and NO work had been done and I had NO voice message from Joe. I left Joe a voice message letting him know that I was NOT HAPPY and wanted to know when he would be starting the job. 9/4-Received a call from Mike with McBride Building stating Joe had subcontracted the job and they would be starting on Mon. Joe NEVER bothered to call me back and do a warm hand off, he just let the subcontractor call me. 9/10 to 9/29-McBride installed new roof and siding. Communication between Joe and Mike was NOT GOOD! Mike claimed not to know about several items in the contract until I asked about them. 9/30-Mike/Joe called stating the job was complete. 10/1-Sent Mike a list of items what would need resolved before I would consider the job finished. 10/9-Crew came and resolved most of the items. 10/13-Joe called to notify me the job was complete but I still had several items that needed an explanation or attention. Later that morning I had an unpleasant call with Mike to resolve the issues. Workers came after dark (7:30pm) to complete the items and didn?t knock on door just started working away. That night, all remaining items were completed. 10/15 Gave Joe permission to charge my credit card for remaining amount and was informed at that time extra plywood was used and an extra charge of $66 was required.
