Mold Remediation, Mold Testing
We hired Seitz Bros to remove mold from our attic. The work eventually got done, but it took three visits from them and many frustrating phone calls.
We chose to work with Seitz Bros because their estimate was significantly lower than another company we got an estimate from. A two person team arrived on time and left after about 4 hours. We were surprised that they were able to complete the job so quickly. When we inspected the attic a few days later, it was clear that there were large areas that were completely uncleaned. After sending them photos, they agreed to send a second team out to inspect the work. The second team, both members of which were very polite but appeared to have no decision-making power, stated that according to an illustration they?d received from the salesman who gave us the original estimate, only half of the attic was supposed to be cleaned of mold. The contract that we had signed clearly stated ?clean attic of mold?? and made no mention of cleaning on a portion of the attic. I spent the morning making several frustrating phone calls to various people in the company trying to convince them that the entire attic needed to be cleaned. The result was that the manager of the mold cleaning division stated that he would have his team who was currently set up at my
house sand the side in question only if I agreed to pay more that we?d already paid. I refused, so they sent out the
original salesman a few days later to try to clear up the confusion. The salesman, who was very friendly, said that his illustration had been misleading to both of the teams who cleaned the attic and he meant that the whole attic should be cleaned. A team was scheduled to come out for a third visit to complete the cleaning.
In conclusion, all of the employees who came to our house were polite and friendly and the mold was cleaned to our satisfaction. However, due to repeated miscommunications within the company and the refusal of a manager to instruct his crews to follow
the work stated on our original contract, it was a much longer and frustrating process than it needed to be.
