Real Estate Auctions
These guys are VERY dishonest. I am not the only person taken by them, check for additional online reviews. First of all, they took 70% of the so called profits. And the profits? they gave me a few thousand dollars for three houses full of merchandise (see above) and almost 40 years of collecting antiques. I received less for everything than I should have received for a set of eight dutch marquetry chairs, or the lladros. The prices they claimed they received were very questionable, and many, many items were not accounted for; there were things they took to auction that were not included in the invoices they gave me, and the worst thing they did, they took my husband's ashes, thinking the box was a silver brick. something else they had no intention of paying me for, as it was "lifted" from an area where they were very specifically and repeatedly told there were no items for them . I should have received a sum in the five figure range for all the items they took, instead I received a few thousand dollars. The father (Ray) is very slick and glib, as is the son (John), and when I called asking question, their secretary, also a family member hung up on me. Never heard from them again. They should be very ashamed of taking advantage of a grieving widow, and for attempting to steal what they thought was silver and was my husband's ashes. I hope he haunts them. Ray Hartzell arrived mad for silver which is why the silver box was taken during the second pick up by the son, John. After items were sold, they and tried to further cheat me out of money for silver items I gave Ray during the first pick-up. Oh, they "forgot" those items... and gave me pennies for them. They forgot a lot more ... My sterling flatware was supposedly sold for less than I would have gotten if I had sold it for scrap, and it was not scrap. Service for 20 and serving pieces and a very expensive box. They also agreed to charge me a 15% fee instead of the usual 25% because of the volume of merchandise, and then when the son came, he had me sign a blank agreement saying it was just to confirm the items taken and then entered 25% into the agreement, which was meaningless anyway because they took 70%. Stay away from them, you will be sorry if you do business with them. I desperately needed the money from the sale of this merchandise and got so little it was horrifying.
