Was recommended by shutter salesman, responded quickly to request for estimate, gave a fair estimate, ALWAYS on time, GREAT with communication, keeping me well informed with projects' set backs, ultimately delivered/finished project on time, took initiative to trouble shoot other smaller items I mentioned in passing. Always pleasant! Absolutely no complaints!
Description of Work: Constructed a custom dog house with steps, replicating my house, with a concealed magnetically operated dog door. Replaced and repaired electric outlets with custom color covers. Installed a safety bar for elderly aunt in shower.

excellent
Description of Work: We have a 100 year old house and the base of the porch was rotting out. We wanted to kept the old porch as we liked the style, so Dan replaced all the bases of the columns as well as a lot of other areas. It came out perfect. He also fixed a wobbly stair railing, that previous contractors had told me I just had to deal with. He came up with an idea, made a custom part and the railing is now stable! It is wonderful to have a contractor who thinks and comes up with solutions. He and his crew are polite and professional.

Working with Dan Seidler was an extremely pleasant experience. He came within days after first looking at the damage. Besides doing excellent work, he was polite, courteous, and extremely helpful. He explained what he was doing during the job. He was also quite clean -- I have never seen anybody take such good care of my hallway! He even helped in dealing with the insurance, which covered part of the cost. Not having had a contractor in the house for some time, loose ends had accumulated, and Dan was very helpful with them as well. He put some real thought even into little things; his suggestions were often simpler than what I had been told in the past and better. Example: our basement stairs had been covered with linoleum and there were sharp metal edges. Past contractors had always told me the whole stairs had to come out including the support. Dan suggested that we just remove the linoleum to see what was underneath, and then possibly carpet over them or sand and paint them. After he removed the linoleum, we elected to just leave them as they are, as they are naturally rough now and prevent me from slipping. Dan involved me in the process, and I could make my decisions along the way. Dan has also been very helpful with giving his thoughts on other projects. On a for me personally important point, he didn't have a problem with me because I'm a woman. In our family it is me who understands the technical stuff, not my husband, and it drives me nuts when contractors keep talking to my husband instead of me, even after I asked the question. In sum, we have been very impressed with Dan's skill, workmanship, thoughtfulness, and professionalism, and would work with him again without hesitation.
Description of Work: After a plumbing leak, walls and floor had to be removed in a bathroom as well as the wall and ceiling in a bedroom, to give access for plumbing repair. Afterwards the walls and floor had to be replaced/patched. There were also some odds and ends that needed dealing with, like removal of old linoleum from basement stairs, fixing the gaps around some recessed kitchen lights, etc.
