Wonderful job! From the moment they knocked on the door (earlier than we expected) until they left they were the epitome of professional, courteous, and friendly. When they unboxed the tub, Ken declared it was defective. Evidently, a step was missed in the Kohler production and QA departments and he said it would have busted if a bottle had been dropped on it. He called Home Smarts's warehouse, had them inspect another one there, and drive it down. It didn't interfere with getting the day's work completed. Ken asked us questions when necessary and provided us with recommendations when we asked. The job site--our hall bathroom--was kept orderly and no dust or debris migrated to the bedrooms or rest of the house. When the work was done they had everything cleaned up. And the job was done wonderfully. Ken explained how to use everything, let us know how long before we could use it, and what the total curing time was. We've been planning this project for two years and couldn't be happier that we ultimately settled on Home Smart for the job. Ken and Tony are the best project team! Kudos to the home office.

Very hard to deal with. They are more interested in the sales part than customer service.

He spent 90 minutes promoting his company. Took measurements and made an appointment at 10AM the following Monday to provide an estimate. He never showed up. When I called, they gave some excuse that they tried to call me over the weekend to verify time but got no response. I was away over the weekend but had no missed calls on my home or cell phone. They made no apologies or attempts to reschedule. I believe they could not do my project but the handling was totally unprofessional. I would never hire this company.

Terrible. He gave us little information, wasted 90 minutes of our time, used high pressure sales tactics. I can not even consider purchasing this item from this sales person because the sales pitch was so pressured - it made me so angry that I could not be objective about the product.

They installed the tub - they were careful with furniture - took old materials away - explained all features and functions of the Tub - answered all my questions - they were very professional and did an excellent job. The tub is fantastic.

Home Smart Industries  They gave me a quote May 6th.  The quote was for $15,100.  The product is phenomenal.  The manger came out, his name is Bruce App.  Really did a nice job describing the product.  Everything is inclusive so there is no additional charges for installation or materials.  It's kind of a one shot deal.  The discounts offered a military discount of $4500 which is exceptional.  Just the product we are very exciting about that.

The salesman had a heavy pressure, must commit today sales pitch. Financing squared away in March. Expecting work to be finished by May. Never heard from OC until June. Work commenced on 6/7. Had over 5 guys working on the first 2 days. After initial push, only one guy showed up every day (Jeff, very nice and professional). July 4th came and he was waiting on permits. Then he was waiting on the AC line to be moved which OC dropped ball on, and I had to contract w/ someone else to move it as a rush job on 7/20. Jeff finished what he needed to do, but still waiting on bathroom. Contractor never showed. Finally showed during weekend of 8/10, which was only weekend I requested no work to be done as I had guests. Project manager showed up without calling and pressured fiancee for final payment in Sept. It's now October, still waiting on final permits and refund for AC line moved. While I'm pleased with how it looks, it's not worth the $$ and aggravation this project has caused.
Response from Home Smart Industries

"• In response to [member name removed] desired resolution, we would be willing to offer the following: We have already processed the refund check for the full amount of the cost of relocating the AC line, rather then paying the agreed upon $133, we will pay the full amount of $266. This check will be mailed after we have spoken with [member name removed] regarding our response to his original letter to our company. • We feel very strongly that the price we charged for the waterproofing was more then competitive and reasonable. Any arrangements [member name removed] made with our installer outside the realm of our contract for additional work at reduced price, does not constitute any basis for our pricing being unreasonable. • The terms of the financing agreement between [member name removed] and the lender constitute the full and complete financing arrangement [member name removed] entered into with the third party finance company and there is not bases for refunding interest for delays in installation. • Had [member name removed] brought the parking ticket regarding our trailer, to our attention during the course of the project, we would have been more the happy to pay the ticket. • While we understand that [member name removed] is not pleased with the time frame in which his project was completed, however this is no basis for a "Nuisance Refund". The terms of our contract with [member name removed] does not provide for any such compensation for a customer being annoyed by the fact that there were problems that occurred during the installation. • As for an apology from the president of our franchise, Mr. Geoffrey Bates will contact [member name removed] personally to offer his apology; we can not speak for the Principle Officers of the Owens Corning Corporation. At this time, Mr. Bates has already attempted to reach [member name removed] by telephone in response to his original letter sent to our company. He assures me that he will continue to call [member name removed] until he speaks to him regarding this matter. I would also like to add that while we understand that Angie's List presents itself as an advocate of the consumer, your approach comes across to businesses as more like common blackmail. To threaten that you will use your power of public exposure by publishing your edited versions of a dispute between a consumer and a business unless the business aggress to utilize your method of dispute resolution, compares to the basic blackmail methods used by common criminals. Regards, Chuck Chettle Production Manager"
