Five Paws of Delaware County

We have used Five Paws for the past five years and we can't imagine trusting our fur babies with any one else. We are very particular in the care of our pets (we have two dogs and four cats ). Five Paws has gone above and beyond with all of our requests for our potty breaks, dinner time visits and overnight stays. The online scheduling and request system is fabulous and easy to use.

We have been using Five Paws for the past year to care for both our cat and sometimes our dog while on vacation.  Five Paws always came, but for much less than the stated and promised times this past time. Our door knobs, as well as the doors, have 2 separate sensors that determine and log when they are unlocked, locked, and opened and closed.For our last trip of 13 days, 6 of the visits were for 11 minutes or less, with 2 visits logged in at 6 minutes. This is unacceptable. In conjunction with our last experience where Five Paws was staying overnight to care for both cat and dog, we returned home early to find the pet sitter and boyfriend BOTH sleeping  over. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the owner who understood that we had to find another service, but blamed the issue on our technology, not her sitter. We are still awaiting a promised refund check for a portion of the fees.

Kim & Puppy Matilda give Five Paws 5 Woofs!

My sister Jenn recommended that I reach out to Five Paws to see how they could help me with Puppy Matilda when she arrived at my house on December 20, 2104.  Matilda is now 20 weeks (March 15, 2015) as I write this testimonial and I could not be more pleased to have found this service and great partnership.

Owner & Schedule:  Jenn could not have been more helpful when hearing that I would need help with Matilda.  Jenn help me create a schedule for Matilda to help with her crate training that had 3 visits a day to make sure 1) she kept consistent with crate training 2) provided enough potty breaks, 3) could eat around mid-day since she had to eat 3 times per day 4) and get enough play time to burn off some puppy energy.  She also said we could add more visits if this was not enough visits to help puppy Matilda through the first few months.  They were also available for 2 visits Christmas day as the vet suggested I could not take Matilda to my brother?s house since they were not sure if she had kennel cough from the breeders.  Melissa fed her dinner and did a play date a few hours later?..this was a great help to me and let me enjoy Christmas with my family and still feel good that Matilda had someone nice to look after her.  Also, Jenn is super organized too with a nifty computer system to register your pets profile.

Pet Sitters:  Melissa was assigned as primary and Morgan as back-up.  Both ladies are so sweet to Matilda and truly adore/love pets.  They love Matilda like ?Aunts?/family. They are the reasons Matilda is so successful at 20 weeks.  They are both super neat too and make sure to wipe up any spills from Matilda, put the leash/treats back in place and wipe up her muddy foot prints (as this winter has been muddy & wet).  They even put my trash bins by the garage and bring any delivered packages inside.

Communications:  Melissa and Morgan leave a note after each of the 3 visits to let me know what Matilda did with them, such as  potty, had for snack or at her lunch, what they played with her at playtime (e.g. fetch) or if she was people/bird watching in the yard. They also would note when Matilda learned some good behaviors from me such as sitting for treats and they saw it repeated with them. These notes make me feel extremely connected to Matilda upon arriving home after work. Also, they reminded me what a good girl she is and how quickly she is growing up!  The best part is when Melissa sends me a video clip or photo of Matilda as it seems she can be such a ?Silly Tilley? on occasion.

Overnight visits:  This is a great service to offer and Matilda loved it (as did I!).  I had to do one night away for a business trip and thought why board Matilda as she is only 20 weeks.  I added a dinner visit and the overnight visit ? Matilda didn?t miss a beat and loved the extra quality time with Melissa. 

Overall, this is the best investment I?ve made in helping Matilda get off to the best start at being a great puppy (and a future great dog).  Five Paws is in a partnership with me and I couldn?t be more pleased with Jenn (owner) and Melissa and Morgan (pet sitters).  If you are getting a puppy or have a dog now ? call Jenn and see how her team can be part of your and your dog?s life.

I never have to worry about 5 Paws missing an appointment. If the regular dog-walker can't make it, 5 Paws automatically provides a substitute. All the dog walkers have been wonderful. They have been precise about spending the entire half hour either walking the dog or using the balance of the time to help me do some pet function here at home.
You must be prepared for a BIG window for showing up. In other words, I can't say: Be here at 10. I have to expect that someone will be here between 10 and 11. Within that hour, they could be considered punctual.
I feel that I definitely get my money's worth out of 5 Paws' services, and I would highly recommend them to anyone in this area.

We always use Five Paws to take care of our two dogs and three cats while we are away. As much as I hate leaving our animals, I always know they are in great hands with Five Paws. Our babies always seem happy and well taken care of while we away and Jenn leaves great notes and updates on the animals upon our return. We have also used Five Paws for dog walking, potty breaks, and overnight visits. Their prices are great and she always has availability for us (several visits have been last min additions). I would highly recommend Jenn and her wonderful crew!

5 Paws cared for our 3 cats while we were away. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Jenn has a warm and friendly way about her that makes people and pets feel at ease. She did an in depth assessment and when we arrived home, 5 Paws provided a report about how the gang did while we were away. We had them visit 2x a day.
We will be using them each time we travel - totally worth the money and the peace of mind.

We've used Jenn multiple times to look after our two cats while we're gone. I was very impressed with her from the beginning. At the initial interview, she interacted great with the cats (they were both all over her by the end of the appointment!) and asked many detailed questions, showing us she was concerned about their habits and well-being. The cats are always well-fed and happy when we return, and Jenn leaves a brief note about the visit. On several occasions we've booked last minute, and we've always been accommodated. I'm sad we've left the area and will need to find a new sitter.
