Eric was quick to respond and to plan. He was friendly and easy to approach, fielded all of my questions during the assessment, and responded with the formal document in a timely fashion. He provided me with invaluable insight regarding the condition of my home's energy efficiency, was straightforward regarding what issues would provide the greatest return on investment, and immensely eased the triage of the many energy issues an old home has. I would absolutely recommend him to any homeowner.

The process went well. Eric came on time and spent about 2-2.5 hours here. He took multiple pictures and explained things to me as we went around our house, mostly inside in every area- basement, attic and living areas. I had saved all of my PECO bills to show him from the last 6 months. He made some outstanding small recommendations- changing our electric and gas supplier and changing from incandescent bulbs to LED bulbs. He did a blower door test and now we have it as a baseline. He gave me lots of info regarding siding and windows and what to look for. He sent me a pdf of a total energy report within 2 weeks and now my husband and I use it as a reference for our upcoming work and things we must do to have our home be more energy efficient. He also told me that I can call or email him with any questions as we go through the updating process with our home.

Eric Lowry conducted a thorough inspection of our home including all living spaces and the basement and attic. I found Eric to be very knowledgeable and professional in his inspection. Eric was happy to discuss all of my questions, including outlining many proposed solutions in the audit report. The outcome of this inspection was a thorough list of solutions concerning any issues discovered during the audit.  Eric also offered appropriate pricing and contacts for work that need to be done.

Eric Lowry conducted a thorough inspection of the basement, conditioned spaces and attic regions of our 70yr old house, including relevant pictures for the detailed report. I found Eric to be very knowledgable and professional in his inspection, taking more than the scheduled time to outline all of the difficulties and potential solutions. Eric was happy to discuss all of my questions, including outlining many proposed solutions in the audit report. The outcome of this inspection was a thorough list of achievable actions that I can in many cases undertake myself over the coming 6 months to improving energy efficiency. Eric also offered appropriate pricing and contacts for work beyond my experience level.

I bought an old Victorian home in west philadelphia at the end of December and was quickly faced with uncomfortable drafts and high utility bills once winter hit. Honestly, I could barely keep the place warm. I scheduled a visit with Eric, and could not have asked for a more productive experience. He arrived on time and walked through all five floors of the house with me, pointing out areas that could be improved. The list was long, but Eric emphasized which fixes would give me the best returns for my money. He obviously knows his stuff.
I like to have as much information as possible, so I had the blower door test and infrared imaging done. I'd recommend both. The following week Eric sent me a detailed summary of everything we discussed, and I have been slowly tackling one project at a time since then. Thanks!

Excellent. Mr. Lowry is very knowledgable and professional. Easy to talk to and ask questions.
Our new house is very cold, and we are refilling our oil tank frequently. He went from basement to attic, inspecting the mechanicals, duct work, and insulation. Used infrared and did blower door test. Helped us solve a potentially dangerous situation with our outdoor AC compressor.
In about 1 week, he provides a comprehensive home energy audit report, with point by point recommendations for improvement (including cost estimate), and his short list of recommended contractors. We will be contacting the contractors soon for estimates.
We also employed his expertise in our prior home a few years ago. After following his recommendations, our home energy use became dramatically more efficient, and cut our monthly oil bill nearly in half.
enthusiastically recommended. No reservations whatsoever.

Eric was on time and very friendly. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and took the time to check every basement and attic space, as well as the garage. We spent a lot of time in the basement and in the attic spaces as those were my areas of concern, and he pointed out all the jobs I could do on my own in and around the house. I really liked the report we got in the end as it provides the list of things that need to be done, but it's ordered by what will provide the most return based on cost.

Great experience. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I'm an engineer by training so I think I asked some pretty detailed questions. The report was very detailed and including a calculation of ROI using the expected savings and estimated costs of each recommendation. To preserve his neutrality, he doesn't perform remediation services, but he referred me to some other contractors one of which I plan to use.

Eric's audit has been very helpful for us to map out a plan to reduce our energy consumption and lower the total cost of ownership of the home.  He provided an overview of how geothermal heating/cooling systems work and how they're installed, and the expected return on investment for them.  He also explained solar power for single-family homes, and other simpler options that will lower costs right away, such as improved sealing, insulation, and appliance and mechanical equipment upgrades.  Our goal is to reduce the impact we have on the environment, while saving money and improving the resale value of our home -- this audit will start us on that path.

On the scheduled day, Eric came to our home to meet my husband and perform the energy audit.  My husband told me that he spent a little over tow hours performing a blower test and thermal camera review, which we appreciated.  He then walked around with my husband and pointed out to him areas that we could work on to improve the energy efficiency of our home, such as tightening up our basement (so that our burner isn't trying to heat up the cold air of the basement in the winter seeping up into our living area).
Eric also provided a very detailed report on our home, which we will be referring back to often as we complete our list of "to dos".  We plan on completing some renovation work in the future, and Eric mentioned that we would be welcome to consult with him when we work on our major projects.  I am sure that we will recoop the money spent on the audit itself in one year (given the cost of oil!).  Well worth the audit and we would highly recommend Lowry Eco-solutions!

Eric was very punctual, pleasant, and professional.  He did a lot of testing, then reviewed his findings verbally with me before
leaving.  He emailed me a complete written report very quickly.  The Energy Works program gave me a discount of $250 off the $400 fee for this audit, making it only $150--this was an amazing deal because the audit was so thorough.  When I asked Eric if there was some way to know if the outer walls had sufficient insulation, Eric said that for $75 he could perform an infra-red scan of the walls, which was not included in the routine audit. This seemed very reasonable, so I said yes, and he got the device from his vehicle. We went from room to room scanning the walls and looking at their heat profiles on the device's screen.  I was able to see that the walls were warm up to about a foot from the ceiling.  Eric said that it is typical for insulation to settle somewhat over time (50-yr-old house), but the insulation in the walls was pretty good. His report highlighted the serious deficiencies in the insulation of the attic as well as several other places in the house where some tightening could save on my gas bill and make me more comfortable.  Using his report, I obtained bids on the work from several Energy Works-approved contractors, selected a contractor, and had the work performed.  Energy Works then sent a different auditor to measure whether the work performed was properly done--this is no reflection on Eric, but a
standard quality-control measure of the Energy Works program.  I have been happy with the results of the energy-saving enhancements made per Eric's recommendations.  Even if you are not participating in the Energy Works program, if you need a home energy audit, you will be well served to engage Eric to do it.

Prior to starting, Eric Lowry gave us a preparation list. During the audit, Eric conducted a blower door test and took us through the house, pointing out areas that needed to be sealed and insulated and explaining the methods needed to accomplish these goals. He was very respectful and and was available to answer all of our questions before, during and after the audit. We were very pleased with his work and found him to be quite knowledgeable and experienced. We highly recommend Eric to anyone interested in having an energy audit done.

Eric's fee, which seemed high at first, was definitely worth it. He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough, and went over my whole house to find ways to reduce my energy costs. He sent me a complete report with lots of educational material on energy efficiency. After I had another contractor do the work, Eric came back to check the work and ensure it was done properly. He caught several things that needed further attention -- things I wouldn't have realized. He then served as my advocate with the contractor, which I really appreciated. He was very punctual and responsive too!

My wife and I went back and forth on whether to spend the money to get an audit done as we thought we may be able to find and fix some of the problems we were having ourselves.  We went forward with the audit and were very happy we did.  Mr.  Lowry was extremely knowledgeable and professional.  He found several issues that I do not believe I would have been able to find myself.  We asked him a ton of questions and he gave us honest informative answers.  I also am some times hesitant to bring anyone new into our house these days with small children but he set my mind at ease within minutes of arriving.  We are moving forward with the recomondations he provided and if all goes well we should see the money spent on the service back in a short time through comfort and cost savings.  I would and I already have  recomend Mr.  Lowry to anyone thinking about having an audit done on their home.

The audit was pretty straightforward. Eric showed me a few useful things like bleeding the radiators, and discussed tasks that I could do myself (without the EnergyWorks loan) and things I should hire professionals to complete. He also responded promptly about unsafe conditions in the house. Since then, I've been transferred from EnergyWorks to EnergySense, a similar program with different requirements, and he has continued to provide feedback about which contractors to go with under the new program. I am grateful to have gotten an audit done through a third party who wouldn't be soliciting bids to do the work, and for the help he has given me long after his work was finished.

We have lived in our house for almost 9 years.  My PECO bills have ranged from $300-$800/month.  We've had problems maintaining even temp throughout the house all along.  It's boiling hot upstairs in the summer, freezing upstairs in the winter.  Have had a new HVAC system installed and multiple consults with various HVAC contractors.  I have not been able to find a satisfactory way to evenly heat/cool the house and address high energy bill.
Eric came today promptly at 8:30 am.  He stayed until noon.  He went through the entire house, inspected all appliances, the HVAC system, measured carbon monoxide.  Measured the air leakage of the house and performed other sophisticated measurements on appliances.  Throughout he was knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely informative.  It is clear that he is working for me and not trying to help out a contractor.  As it turns out, the house leaks a tremendous amount of air, my refrigerator consumes way too much energy, and many other issues exist.  He told us about a low interest loan program where one can borrow up to $15000 to make improvements to enhance energy efficiency of your house.
After many years of trying to get things "right" with respect to the energy efficiency of the house and even heating/cooling, I think Eric is finally going to help get us where we need to be.  I could not be happier.  I enthusiastically recommend Eric Lowry.

Eric was a consummate professional, easygoing and was willing to make recommendations that demonstrated his dedication to saving money and reducing energy costs at any cost. The final report he filed was complete and eye-opening. He made recommendations for contractors that showed he took pride in his work and was willing to assist in the future.

Great experience with this contractor.  Eric showed up on time, was very professional and knowledgeable.  First he did a general assessment of the house -- both floors, basement and outdoors -- then performed specific tests on the heating and cooling systems, and all appliances to check energy efficiency.  He then went up into the attic (not easy, as it is reached through a crawl space in one of the closet ceilings) to gauge the level of insulation and potential air leakage there.  Finally, he retrieved a large fan from his truck to perform a velocity test that would gauge the general level of leakage in the house (this can then be compared to the level after energy improvements are made).

He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional.  Highly recommend.

Excellent service! Mr. Lowry was not only on time but a little early (unheard of!!) I had his energy audit through Energy Works. He was very thorough and took time to answer all my questions. He went to each floor of my old home to search for energy leaks, checked for carbon monoxide and did a blower test.
He delivered a very comprehensive report quickly with suggestions for saving energy and helped me prioritize which projects to pursue first. He told me about the low-cost loan program which I have now applied for.
He is courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. A terrific experience. A very satisfied customer!
