"I am the wrong company. I did not provide any service to this homeowner. I suspect you mean "Lowry Services". Please retract this review at your earliest opportunity. Thanks"
I like to have as much information as possible, so I had the blower door test and infrared imaging done. I'd recommend both. The following week Eric sent me a detailed summary of everything we discussed, and I have been slowly tackling one project at a time since then. Thanks!
Our new house is very cold, and we are refilling our oil tank frequently. He went from basement to attic, inspecting the mechanicals, duct work, and insulation. Used infrared and did blower door test. Helped us solve a potentially dangerous situation with our outdoor AC compressor.
In about 1 week, he provides a comprehensive home energy audit report, with point by point recommendations for improvement (including cost estimate), and his short list of recommended contractors. We will be contacting the contractors soon for estimates.
We also employed his expertise in our prior home a few years ago. After following his recommendations, our home energy use became dramatically more efficient, and cut our monthly oil bill nearly in half.
enthusiastically recommended. No reservations whatsoever.
"This is exactly the experience I strive for. My clients interests are my interests. Happy air sealing and insulating. Eric"
Eric also provided a very detailed report on our home, which we will be referring back to often as we complete our list of "to dos". We plan on completing some renovation work in the future, and Eric mentioned that we would be welcome to consult with him when we work on our major projects. I am sure that we will recoop the money spent on the audit itself in one year (given the cost of oil!). Well worth the audit and we would highly recommend Lowry Eco-solutions!
leaving. He emailed me a complete written report very quickly. The Energy Works program gave me a discount of $250 off the $400 fee for this audit, making it only $150--this was an amazing deal because the audit was so thorough. When I asked Eric if there was some way to know if the outer walls had sufficient insulation, Eric said that for $75 he could perform an infra-red scan of the walls, which was not included in the routine audit. This seemed very reasonable, so I said yes, and he got the device from his vehicle. We went from room to room scanning the walls and looking at their heat profiles on the device's screen. I was able to see that the walls were warm up to about a foot from the ceiling. Eric said that it is typical for insulation to settle somewhat over time (50-yr-old house), but the insulation in the walls was pretty good. His report highlighted the serious deficiencies in the insulation of the attic as well as several other places in the house where some tightening could save on my gas bill and make me more comfortable. Using his report, I obtained bids on the work from several Energy Works-approved contractors, selected a contractor, and had the work performed. Energy Works then sent a different auditor to measure whether the work performed was properly done--this is no reflection on Eric, but a
standard quality-control measure of the Energy Works program. I have been happy with the results of the energy-saving enhancements made per Eric's recommendations. Even if you are not participating in the Energy Works program, if you need a home energy audit, you will be well served to engage Eric to do it.
"I very much appreciate your time and thoughtfulness in providing your review. Your experience is exactly what I want my clients to have. As always, please contact me if you have any questions or need more information. Have a Happy and Warm Holiday Season. Eric"
Eric came today promptly at 8:30 am. He stayed until noon. He went through the entire house, inspected all appliances, the HVAC system, measured carbon monoxide. Measured the air leakage of the house and performed other sophisticated measurements on appliances. Throughout he was knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely informative. It is clear that he is working for me and not trying to help out a contractor. As it turns out, the house leaks a tremendous amount of air, my refrigerator consumes way too much energy, and many other issues exist. He told us about a low interest loan program where one can borrow up to $15000 to make improvements to enhance energy efficiency of your house.
After many years of trying to get things "right" with respect to the energy efficiency of the house and even heating/cooling, I think Eric is finally going to help get us where we need to be. I could not be happier. I enthusiastically recommend Eric Lowry.
He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend.
He delivered a very comprehensive report quickly with suggestions for saving energy and helped me prioritize which projects to pursue first. He told me about the low-cost loan program which I have now applied for.
He is courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. A terrific experience. A very satisfied customer!
