When you pay top dollar, you expect top dollar outcomes. This just wasn't the case. I was also told with these old houses (1950's), there are so many layers of paint that sometimes areas of the exterior crack after a season and repainting may be required yearly in those spots. I do not know if this is true, but it doesn't sound right. If you pay $16,000 to have your house painted, that just doesn't make sense to me. I have owned older homes before and exterior paint did not chip after one season.
The experience was disappointing and frustrating. I will not use them again. If my chipping is a one off phenomenon and they came out promptly to correct it, I might feel differently.
This time I went with John Neill whose estimate was not the cheapest but reasonable. The crew came when expected, cleaned up and were professional in every way. They took care of things I hadn't even asked for, and their attention to detail was evident throughout. The quality of the work clearly surpasses what was done last time and the house looks great. I would definitely recommend John Neill Painting- wish I'd used them the first time!
