Family owned and operated for 68 years. Costello's Electrical Service was opened in October 1951 in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. William J. Costello began the company which serviced and sold major appliances and also did electrical contracting. We are very proud to be celebrating our 60th year in business.

Kevin was an absolute pro. Kindly taught a newbie homeowner how to unclog the igniter in the future, and also checked after fastening the dishwasher to make sure plumbing was in good shape - which was when he discovered rotting parts underneath. Very happy to have found him and will go to him for all future appliance fixes!

Costello's promptly returned my call, scheduled for two days later and charged a very reasonable cost. Kevin was great to talk with and completed the fix efficiently, in a short amount of time. Would highly recommend.

It turned out to be a much more extensive repair than just the tumbler and wasn't worth doing for a 40-year old dryer.

Kevin responded quickly to my phone message about scheduling a service call. He arrived promptly and completed the work as described above. He also noticed that the coating on the ice maker had chipped off and the ice maker was no longer safe to use, so he removed it. Kevin is friendly and professional - a pleasure to do business with!

I have used Kevin and Costello Electric a couple times before. Kevin came in and immediately went to work on the dishwasher. With very little info, he diagnosed the problem as a jammed motor from some piece of glass. In no time, he had the motor unjammed, ran and tested.
I had an email receipt in my inbox before he walked out the door.
This was another great experience with Kevin and I can't recommend him enough!!

The communication was very poor. I was told to use email but he would take days to write back and not fully answer my questions. When he told me he would call back later that day, he never did. I gave up on email and had to call serveral times to get answers. He did the repair well but it took 1 1/2 weeks longer than promised and the process was frustrating.

"Thanks for taking the time to post your review. I did get to review my notes for the repair done to your washer. I do remember it was difficult to obtain that specific part for your machine and it was a special order from the manufacturer. Sometimes the manufacturer has a shortage of parts when a specific component has a higher than normal failure rate and there can be a shortage of replacement parts. I am a early riser and the first thing I do is respond to my email in the morning. Even if I dont have an answer I will send an email that I received it and will respond asap. The dates indicate that this happened a couple of days before I left for vacation with my family. I was working really long days at that time to make sure everything was in order before I left...perhaps a couple of things fell through the cracks. This is not the norm as my other reviews indicate and I'm sorry if that happened. The repair was completed properly and reasonably. I always show up at the appointed day and time and do the best job I can. We are a local business that has been around for 62 years in your neighborhood. I would hope that you may give us a second chance. Thanks, Kevin"

My appt went great. Frank came out promptly, did a thorough diagnostic check, and made some minor repairs. He was very personable and discussed other appliance repairs as well. I would gladly use this vendor again and recommend to others.

I would give Costello's Electrical Service As straight across. I would use them again in the future. He came on short noticed, diagnosed the problem immediately, fixed the problem, and was very reasonable in cost. He knew exactly what he was doing and it was not expensive.

Kevin, from Costello Electrical, immediately diagnosed the problem on our phone call and told me the repair would be approximately $300.00. It was a faulty control panel and a new control panel would cost about $180.00 for the part. Replacing the dishwasher would be about $1,500 for a new one, including a custom wood front panel to match our cabinets. So we opted for the repair. Kevin told us the part would take about a week to arrive. We got a call as soon as it did, and Kevin came out to make the repair the next day.
The bill came in less than the estimate. This is the first time we used Costello Electric and I'd use them in again for sure. Nice folks to deal with!

I checked your list and found a number of appliance repair services near us. I chose Costellos's because of the many positive comments on the services most relevant to my need. I sent him an email with specified time that I would be available and he called the same evening. He told me he's very busy and had work backed up for a week but he could come out the following week which was fine for me as it wasn't super urgent. A few days later he sent email to confirm the appointment and specified the time as we had agreed. He came right on time yesterday and repaired the washing machine. The problem was the drive belt as we thought but he took the time to check it out for possible causes for the problem. He tilted the heavy appliance to look at the gear/drum at the bottom. He leveled the machine to restore proper balance for the spin cycle. He test ran it before he pronounced it done. All the while he gave me advice as how best to keep the old machine running and the amount of remaining useful life I can expect of the machine.
At my request he took time to evaluate the old microwave and stove/oven that are built-in appliances in my kitchen and gave suggestions as to how we might replace them without doing a major renovation.

I contacted Costello's through their website contact form and Kevin got back to me in a couple hours! This is terrific turn-around for a phone call, let alone a website contact form communication! That was a good sign to me. Kevin called me back and tried to walk me through the fix for my clothes dryer myself, but since I was uncomfortable performing the fix myself, I asked if this is something he could do, which it was. We scheduled for a couple days later, which was an acceptable time frame in my eyes. His time frame for arrival was very punctual and he came in, saw the issue and immediately knew what to do. The fix was completed quickly and when I told him my stacked washer and dryer was shaking when the washer was on the spin cycle, he leveled out my stacked washer/dryer as well and then showed me exactly how to perform both repairs if I needed to do them again in the future! Incredibly nice guy with great know-how and very professional and personable. I have put Costello's in my address book for any future needs and will be passing their name to my friends and family as a highly suggested company to work with.

The contractor arrived on time and was very friendly. he inspected it and determined it was beyond repair. Knowing I would need to purchase a new dryer and install it in a different location then the current one, he recommended a reliable brand, and inspected the new area where the new dryer would be installed.

I received a phone call back within minutes of my leaving a message. Kevin came in 2-3 days and fixed the problem. He was very polite and professional. And the price was what he estimated on the phone. I would definitely call this company again.

Overall, it took a while -- simply because, as you will remember, we had a few snowflakes around here, and a LOT of things just stopped happening. Once we crossed THAT bridge, however, and set a date and time, things went swimmingly. Costello arrived smack in the middle of his arrival window, went immediately to work, and was finished within the hour, leaving the place un-littered and quite clean. VERY BUSINESSLIKE. It should be added that our washer is something of a "sport": it's a large-capacity machine that will fit into a small space. Such animals are hard to find -- and may not in fact be made any longer. Which is the likely reason for Costello to have had to search far and wide for the necessary parts. It's not a young washer. Who knows how long it will last? But so far, we are delighted with Costello.

I called them and they came out within two days. They were very prompt. It wasn't a big problem it was something really minor. He also recommended that I have some other work done which I haven't done yet, but it was a good advice
