Malloy Plumbing

I was selling my house and I need it a Plumber to perform a dye test and install a back flow valve. My real estate agent recommended few Plumbers and one of them was Scott Malloy.  I called him and he came and give me an estimate for the job. I hired him and a few days later he  performed a dye test and installed a back flow valve in my house.  I paid him that day right after he finish the job and the next day my hot water heater explode in the basement.  I tried to reach Mr. Malloy , I called  his cell phone and  left several voice mails  stating that it was an emergency  and explained what  has happened . It took Mr. Malloy  two  hours to  turn my call back. He came and checked my hot water heater and told me that  the reason it exploded because it  couldn't handle the pressure that caused by the back flow valve he installed the day before. He denied any responsibility for what happened even though,  he didn't  warn  me  of the potential problem. He recommanded that I buy and install  a new water and an expansion tank  and agree to do the work for extra charge.  He want and get me a new water heater and expansion tank and I took a half day off work to help him  with hauling the new water heater and removing the old one ( he was working by himself) . After he was done I paid him for his work and asked him if he can give me invoices for the work he has done. I needed the invoices that time to present  to my insurance company to get reimbursed for the water heater and also need it the invoices  for the closing. He promised that he will mail them to me right a way. I waited two weeks and start calling Mr. Malloy  cell phone  and asked him for the invoices and reminded him that  I need them as a prove for the work he has done but he never returned my calls or sent me the invoices until I get my real estate agent and my house insurance company  involved.  A week later and after receiving few calls and text messages from my agent and  the insurance representative he faxed the invoices to my agent. I was so frustrated with Mr. Malloy and  I was ready to file a compliant against him with the Better Business Bereau.  I will never hire him  again and never recommend  him to anyone!!! 

He didn't respond to my call for a month and a half.  Then failed to make 3 appointments before finally showing up.  When he did show up, he made numerous mistakes and demonstrated a clear lack of thoroughness. After making estimates, he never returned any of my calls- it's been about 3 months.  He may be an ok plumber( at best), but his professionalism is the worst I've ever seen.

I contacted Scott to perform the work. Scott had an excavator come in advance to dig and then Scott arrived and made necessary repairs. They coordinated well with the water authority. Both Scott and Fritz (excavator) worked hard and were very friendly and enjoyable to talk with.
