Laurel Awning Co

I signed the contract at the beginning of March. An architect was supposed to draw up the plans and then send them to the Bensalem Township for approval and permits. There was a delay on getting the awning process started due to the township wanting the steps replaced first. So, I paid the first payment on 4/29/2013. This was when the architect was supposed to draw up the plans and get them approved. I paid the second installment on 5/23 after receiving a letter in the mail advising that they needed another payment and that the job was going to cost an additional $800. I called Laurel two weeks ago and was advised that the township had all the paperwork and all they were waiting on was the township's "go-ahead." Nothing happened and so I called again yesterday. I was told that Laurel needed to contact the architect to find out what the hold up was. I was told that they were going to have a meeting this morning in regards to my awning. I got a call back this morning saying that a check was in the mail and that they weren't going to be making my awning. The blame was placed on the architect and the gentleman that I spoke with didn't know what the hold up was. He knew that I am unable to wait any longer for this awning and so sent my money back to me. This has delayed the opening of my business, as I don't have a proper entrance now that would be recognizable. The owner of Laurel Awnings, out of the Pittsburgh office, threatened to write a negative review about my business on Angie's List if I left a review on this experience.
