Recommended by our real estate agent along with one other company. Was specifically told by this realtor (in referring to M Mac) "he wants to and does do it right; clearly takes pride in his final product/work". Mickey @ M Mac was the owner where as the other company I was dealing with a sales person. Other company had a slightly different approach; which was not the same as recommended by the stucco inspector. When I asked the other company to quote me the same repair as Mickey, they were MUCH higher. Mickey's quote said the would "do everything as the stucco inspectors recommendations" - I liked that as I had hired a professional to find the problems. Doesn't it make sense to have the work repaired accordingly?! Side note: I had recently redone the stucco on a fireplace for my current home, so I knew a bit about the process. I had just information to be dangerous - lol! I knew about the need for a weep screed, etc. It's important to be educated because many contractors know all the buzz words to dangle in front of a homeowner, but if you don't have some basic understanding, you can easily be 'taken'. Mickey knew I understood enough and was always willing to help me understand further. Never was bothered by my many questions, even after the work began. He was always there when he said he would be. Was, clearly, incredibly knowledgeable in his trade. Always onsite with his crew giving them direction. I trusted him with access to my new unoccupied home. There was a slight glitch, all my doing, and Mickey took it in stride. When work began, he would keep me informed of the process, asking me to stop by as needed with questions or just to make sure I understood was going on and why. Honestly, he went above and beyond in what he did to 'do it right'; just as my realtor had said. End result is a superb looking stucco & stone exterior, done to code and properly installed. I can be difficult as I ask a lot of questions, want to understand, and expect contractors to hold up there end of the bargain and call them on it when they don't - maybe that shouldn't be considered 'difficult' but it's happened too many times in the past. However, I am begin to see that when one hires a true professional - they appreciate a home owner who wants to understand and welcome questions. They don't mind when a homeowner points out what they believe to be a concern and if it truly is - they correct it. The key is to find THAT kind of contractors in the field you require. I was lucky enough to have been referred to a stucco/stone contractor M Mac Exteriors (Mickey) who is just that! Would not hesitate to recommend him.
