We cannot begin to describe how incredibly pleased we were with Patrick and his cohort, Nick. Consummate professionals AND craftsmen, they worked swiftly yet were comprehensive in effort and scope. Patrick was completely transparent in what he was thinking and believing and explained his reasoning thoroughly, both in the estimate process and later, in this job that ended up having more problems than we anticipated and required additional work and time. he was collegial, pleasant and humble. he and Nick were a pleasure to have at our house. as for the jobs themselves, he was able to work with our old chimney and provided further protection after his work of repairing and repointing was finished . his idea about how to handle the base of the chimney and make it look stunning and different by adding a heavy copper facing that slightly flared out as it met our natural stone patio, was an incredible idea that ended up being as incredible looking as it sounded when he proposed it after discussing with us our ideas about aesthetics and discussing our ideas and priorities. and as for the second job, what Patrick and Nick ended up doing was to fully dig out and remove the old cinder block walls, leaving ample space for placing a waterproof barrier where the new cinder blocks they installed met the soil of the grounds, and then backfilling, after filling each block with concrete. in addition, they took out the original framework of the old screen door that led directly into the basement, and put in a new frame for a new door (that we will have to get installed in the near future) made of pressure treated lumber for additional weather and insect protection. they took out and rebuilt the lintel area over the doors, and insulated this and the areas behind the new framework as well. they then capped off the new lintel area with wood like PVC board, which we will paint to match the Cotswold Cottage look of this unique home. they also dug out and laid concrete at the head of the new Bilco doors where none existed before. and finally, they installed the new Bilco doors, which, because of the White House tariffs on steel, became several hundred dollars more expensive than when we signed the work order. The public needs to know that when you hire this wonderful man, you are getting a superb craftsman, an excellent thinker, a great worker, an ethical individual, and someone who cares deeply about his work and his customers and will do whatever has to be done to make the owner happy, and the job one to be proud of. And his choice of an equally wonderful and skilled worker, his friend and longtime associate (Nick) who has many many years in this field, is also an indication of excellent judgement. Nick himself was also a pleasure to work with and to know. By the end of this job, we felt like Patrick and Nick were longtime friends with amazing skills. our only regret is that we cannot use this magnificent company for anything in the near future. you will not regret hiring them.
