Sunshine Cleaning

At first my service was good when Miss Tammy did the cleanings.  Then when she no longer worked for Sunshine Cleaning, new employees were sent.  They did good the first time.  However, the second time the new employee named Jendi was sent into my home without the trainer the house was spot cleaned and jewelry was stolen (family heirlooms).  Ms. Hoover did not charge me for the cleaning since her employee admitted to leaving early.  She even wanted to try and make it right and send her back to redo the job.  I told her that if this was the employee's integrity I did not want her back into my home.  I also cancelled service because something felt off.  I didn't even know at that point that she had gone through my jewelry box and stole jewelry.  I had a horrible time trying to get insurance information from Ms. Hoover as well as having her cooperate with her own insurance company, Erie insurance.  I am still in the process of dealing with them.  The employees that had been sent into my home were not bonded or insured and my homeowners will have to handle this.  I even contacted my former cleaner (Miss Tammy) with Sunshine Cleaning and she informed me as well that she was never told to carry her own insurance. So she had essentially been in my home for 7 months without insurance or being bonded.  Thankfully Miss Tammy was trustworthy and there were no issues while she was in my home.  My insurance said they will go after Ms. Hoover and her insurance company, as I wrote the checks out to her and scheduled the cleanings through her.  I trusted that she would do her part and send insured and trustworthy people into my home.

Ms. Hoover claims all of her employees are subcontractors that should carry their own insurance.  That would be fine as long as she made sure they had proper insurance before sending them into my home to clean as representatives of Sunshine Cleaning. I have also been informed that around March 28 (which was 3 days after the employee confessed) Ms. Hoover informed all of her employees that they now must carry their own insurance so they may now have coverage please check for yourself!  That was my fault for just trusting her and  the line on her website that said fully insured and bonded for your protection and piece of mind.  I am still waiting for the whole for my protection and piece of mind!

  Please take the advice of Angie's list and ask for proof of insurance on the exact individual that will be in your home.  My husband and I have gone through heck trying to deal with all of this.  The only thing that helped was that the employee of Sunshine Cleaning confessed to stealing the items and she is being charged with a felony.  Thankfully she also confessed where she sold the jewelry to, the jewelry store has assisted us with the claims, police report and are even trying to help us replace the jewelry with as similar pieces as they can find.   I will gladly provide a copy of the police report and insurance information to prove the legitimacy of this post and that there is no slander.  I also had to hire a lawyer with all of this.  Per my lawyer, I have every right to truthfully review this company and maybe save someone else from going through the same heartache as us.  Per the police department, asking Ms. Hoover to cooperate and for insurance information when all of this unfolded is not harassment nor is posting reviews on the experience I had.  They know what happened as they interviewed not only me because I filed the report immediately, they also interviewed Ms. Hoover and Jendi the employee.  ASK FOR PROOF OF INSURANCE!

I was disappointed in the quality of the work overall. I asked the 3 cleaners to ignore funiture and carpets and appliances but deep clean baseboards cobwebs and shelving and woodwork and interior windows and get to the corners that tend to be overlooked. My direction was to clean the house so that potential buyers would be impressed by the cleanliness of the property. I generally trust the people I hire to do good work but after the team left I noticed shelves, baseboards behind doors, woodwork, and other places that were not touched. One cleaner seemed genuinely dedicated to doing a good job (Dorothy) but another took a call on her cell phone while I was explaining what needed to be done (Sharon). I will not hire Sunshine Cleaners again. My standards are high and I am willing to pay a fair price for good work but I ended up redoing much of the work myself which defeated the purpose of hiring a cleaning team.

They did a great job. Prompt, courteous, and fabulous cleaners. Also, they use fantastic natural cleaning products that have a great scent and clean well. In my kitchen, they went beyond my expectations and moved the fridge to clean behind it. They also did a great job cleaning the jets in a whirlpool tub that I thought was beyond help. I would recommend them to anyone.

    I've had Sunshine Cleaning come here three or four times so far and they have been wonderful. After I contacted the company, the owner, Becky, came to my house and we did a walk-through during which I gave her a list of things I was hoping to be cleaned on a bi-weekly basis. On the list I had the normal things like dusting and cleaning the floors but I also had things like cleaning the front porch and every June and December, cleaning the windows. Becky called me a few hours later and gave me a price of $70 every two weeks. She said she basis her fees on the job, not by the hour, since sometimes things take longer than expected.
     My professional cleaner is Sharon and professional is a great word for her. When she comes here, she herself is very polished, clean and sharp!!! She goes beyond what I had hoped for; today I came home and the coffee cup I left in the sink was washed! I even left a note saying that she could skip the small bedroom today since I had it piled full of junk but she cleaned it anyway! It those little things that makes me appreciate them. 
    It seems nobody does a good job anymore but they actually do!!! I also love, love, love that they use natural products. I get migraines so I really appreciate that I'm not coming home to a chemical warfare. If your thinking about having some help, trust me, they are great and you can tell they take pride in their work.
