Auto Transmission Service
Julie, in the office, is friendly, helpful, and very reassuring. Matt is a mechanical genius. The first service provider I took my SUV to had me believing it was ready for the scrap heap. Matt said he could help and he certainly did. It now drives better than it ever did.

I live in Missouri and I was visiting my sister in Altoona, PA. When I got to PA I realized I was having an issue with my car making a funny sound. I called ATS thinking it may be a problem with my transmission and they seen me right a way. Mr. Conrad was unable to assign a transmission specialist to look at my car so he brought it into the shop and personally looked at my car. After a thorough examination he determined that my transmission was 100% okay but my emergency brake shoes where badly worn and making the noise I was hearing. Rather than referring me to a brake shop, he informed me he was capable of fixing the brakes (even though they only do transmissions) and since I was from out of town and it was the end of the business day, he would be happy to do the repairs. I agreed and in an hour or so he had me out the door.
Even though it was late in the day and I was from out of town, he did a great job at a super price when others could have gouged me. I am retired military and appreciate good service when out of town as it is hard to get sometimes. BRAVO ATS. I would refer your business to any one local or visiting. Glad I bumped into you.
P.S. The shop was clean and professional looking... not your basic cut rate greasy garage

Caught in a snow storm around Laurel Ridge Summit Friday Jan 17th, and I noticed my 4wd High light blinking. Made me think something was wrong, so I put it into 2wd. from that point on I had no power going to the wheels. I drifted to the side of the road to wait for a tow truck for nearly 3 hours.
Dropped off the Jeep at ATS that night knowing they wouldn't even get a chance to know it was on their lot until Monday morning.
They were busy, but Julie at the shop told me it may take a day or two to look at. That was fine, I was in Pittsburgh with a rental and wouldn't be back until the 24th. So Wednesday afternoon, I get the phone call letting me know that it was the transfer case and a used one can be found for $750 or rebuild it. Rebuild would've taken longer and more expensive, so I asked to go with the used one.
Thursday I check in and Julie was working with me to try to get the Jeep on the road by the weekend instead of me needing to rent a car for another week as I continue to work out of town. Awesome, great idea!
Friday I call to see how it's going and the gentleman who answered the phone said they're out driving the Jeep around to test out the fix. WHEE!!
Later get a phone call from, and I'm sorry I forget the name, Matt and he explains to me that upon further review.... my linkage to the transfer case had popped out, and with some strong will and help they got the piece back in place and couldn't find anything wrong with the old case as he road tested it. Even sweeter. Yeah, some of you may think " they should've known that first" , well I'm just glad they found it before they NEEDED to charge me for a used transfer case and labor.
So what I was worried to be a bill over $1000, was quoted for $750, but ended up being around $145.
I'm sure this isn't everyone's story, but these guys took a bank-buster for the month and turned it into my old reliable jeep for a small dent in the checking account.
