We are happy with Kumon. The sheer volume of problems completed in a short time really "nails down" concepts that your child may have needed more time with in school. I believe it has caught and corrected holes and thin spots in my sons' prior learning and my 7th grader is making an A in a stringent pre-algebra class. You have to enforced the daily work at home and check it yourself using an answer book and have them correct their errors. It has not been onerous for our family, we even took it along on a beach vacation and it did not get in the way of fun. Kumon will ventually progress your child to Trigonometry and Calculus at his/her own pace. It also offers a reading program designed to improve reading stamina and comprehension. I have and will consider it because these are skills definitely needed in High School AP course.
