Met with her at her home. She was very accommodating and the price was reasonable.

I asked Joy to alter three pieces of clothing.  I dropped off the pieces and had to keep calling her to find out the status and WHEN they would be done.  Received several excuses as to why she was so busy and why the items were delayed.  Several MONTHS later - I finally received two of the three pieces - but it was only because I told her I was taking the clothing elsewhere to be altered and I would be stopping by to pick them up.
All three pieces smelled musty and needed dry cleaned.

I contacted Joy over the phone and asked if she would be interested in sewing the roman shades. I brought over the materials and because it was around the holidays she advised me of her schedule and when the blinds could be completed, which was after the holidays. I provided her with the dimensions and before she cut the fabric she called me to confirm some specifics. The finished product was superb and I will be going back to Joy for alterations for my daughters wedding dress in the near future. Joy works out of her house and has many years seamstress experience. She is very reasonably priced. She charged me for labor and for some hardware she purchased.

I called. Learned of Joy from the Internet and e-mail notification from Angie's List. She was able to a**** the sweater that day and determined she would be able to repair it. She completed the job that day and I picked it up the next day. She was pleasant and professional.

Joy does a fantastic job and her prices are great. I was not in a hurry to get the items back, so it took her about 3 weeks. If you are in need of your alterations, etc by a certain time, just let her know (and tell her a few days before you actually need it). Will definitely use her again in the future.

I was happy with the quaility and price and had no problems with punctuality (though I did allow over a month for her to get the work done). I would use her again.

I chose Joy because of her good reviews on Angieslist. However, be sure to read them carefully. For as another member has pointed out, Joy is not good at doing the work in a timely manner. I dropped off a sportcoat for Joy to look at and potentially repair in early November. She did not give me an estimate as to the work or time of completion. That didn't bother me. After not hearing from her for two weeks, I called her. She told me she had been "busy" and did not get to it yet. After another two weeks I called her and she said she had been "busy" and did not get to it yet. I picked up the coat without her doing the work. She had the coat for almost a month and did not even attempt to fix it. It would have been better if she would have told me that upfront.

Dropped off the jackets at the end of September, she was quick to let me know when she wasn't going to meet her estimated completion date (2 weeks). But after that I had to ask several times about when the work would be completed. I got the jackets right before I was leaving for a trip. Her work was excellent, reasonably priced and she is pleasant to work with. If time isn't a factor, I'd use her again.

She was wonderful. The job was professionally done. She was very quick. She had all the items completed for me in a few days.

Joy was easy to work with. She was pleasant, informative, and very timely. She finished the dress in only a couple of days, at a very reasonable price.

It went great. Joy was very and professional and the cushion covers fit perfectly. She even went to the store on her own because we ran out of material. The work she did was excellent in quality and she finished right when she said she would.

Joy was very responsive and gave great suggestions on how to make my wife's dress look the best. She was timely in her work and at a great price. Will definitely use her again for any sewing or alteration work.

Joy absolutely lived up to her name! It was so nice to have these chores accomplished so expertly for such a reasonable price and by such a nice lady! Our family will be calling on Joy whenever we need alteration, mending and decorating.

I went once for her to measure the zipper and take a sample of the color. Then a few days later I dropped off the jacket. Unfortunately, due to the Christmas season, it took longer than expected for her to receive the zipper she ordered. About a week or two later I went to pick up the jacket. She repaired it the day she received the zipper and was ready for me immediately. She made a special point of sewing the day she received the zipper so my husband could have it quickly. She did a good job on the main side of the jacket, but the reverse side was not as neat, and she did forget to snip some of the threads, but all in all, she did a pretty good job. But the price was right including the cost of the zipper, as I hadn't wanted to spend a lot since the jacket cost only $9 to begin with.

Excellent seamstress, convenient hours, fast service and VERY reasonable pricing. Works very well with short notice and under pressure. Lovely person to deal with. Works from her home here in the North Hills of Pittsburgh.
