The contractor, who took great pride in the quality of the work, went out of his way to ensure a top-notch result. In fact the building inspector noted that he rarely sees work of such high quality. We are most pleased with the result. There were occasional delays that stretched out the process by about an extra month, but that's probably to be expected with a project of this sort. Some of the delay occurred because the contractor wanted to make sure things were done right when unexpected problems arose, an attitude that we applaud. The contractors did all the demolition work, carpentry and some cabinetry work themselves. Subs were used for concrete, electrical, plaster, plumbing, and roofing work, but the subs were ones that they had used previously and had confidence in. The confidence was well-placed, as all their work was very well done.
