Rick has been very generous throughout our relationship with MacHose contracting, offering discounts on every roof they have done. This past year due to the strain of the pandemic, in addition to the regular roof discounts, he has generously added an additional discount on each roof to help us during these hard times. His crews are very neat, professional and efficient. We have been using MacHose Contracting for close to twenty years now and we have had no complaints from our homeowners. They built the sun room for us. There was a trouble from the beginning. Rick did not have liability insurance so township did not give him permit. He started in November 2019 and partially Finished after six with very poor quality of work. He refuses to finish the work. He also does not respond to reminders to fix leaky roof or other problems. I would not recommend him to anyone. Reviews from Beasleys are fake. James Beasley is the one who is lead forman and does majority of the work. So do not believe the reviews with five stars. James Beasley also operates a company under Beasley Construction. They are all nice people but do very poor quality of work and do not fix problems.

Very hard to deal with, I believe years ago he did great work but now its only his workers on the job. He never comes to check on things, they made a mess in my opinion. I had to hire a contractor to fix his mess. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

Update to Machose response. I have a contract that says PAID IN FULL!. The screws he moved around are NOT INTO WOOD! I have a new contractor coming to finish his work! I have pictures AND State Farm insurance has been out to see his work.

He was also arrested for not letting a code building inspector on his property, fined 750 dollars and put on 12 months PROBATION by Pike county courts for OBSTRUCTING the Administration of Law !

YOU CAN"T TRUST THIS GUY, the only time he's not lying is when his mouth isn't moving!

Update 11-02-14
New Roofing contractor came out to look at the roof, the porch awning is not flashed!  The entire area above the porch awning the old shingle roof is exposed! Huge job to fix properly, the area above the porch the aluminum panels are only attached to Styrofoam insulation! The new roof is only laying on the old roof in that area.

I've contacted the PA attorney generals office.
Response from MacHose Contracting
"Some people you just can't please... Did insurance est, met with adjuster.Got him a great insurance settlement. Came back after job to address a problem with a connection to the roof. Showed him it was a matter of a longer screw. He would not accept... Sent 2 men who took out and screwed every screw while homeowner watching entire time. We even replaced screws for him not related to the job... Told the men he was satisfied yet called the next day to say not satisfied. This customer said how he investigated the company and did not find one thing bad about it... Now he is just a big pain in the ........ Hasn't even paid what he agreed to with extra work on his shed, for ins est, etc.. Rick"

After the harsh winter, we needed a new roof. Had received info in a brochure from them last year, called and spoke to owner, Rick MacHose,  set up a meeting to discuss and set a date. Workers came out and had the roof on in a days work, which included ripping my old gutters off, building a 'spine' down the middle of trailer, adding plywood and 2" thick insulation. They had to come back to add the gutters, which all went well, after talking to Rick.

Update 6/18/14 - I had been waiting for a hot day to see how well the insulation was working. It's 90* outside, and it's 74* inside. Before having the new roof installed, if it was 90* outside, it would be up to 88* inside. Very happy it's so much cooler.

Had to call them back several times to repair a leak in the large roof. The
last time I called the owner, he blew me off by saying he was too busy
right now to come and fix the leak. I also sent him an email over a
month ago telling him what I thought of his handling of my request and
he never responded. I also hired them in 2010 to install a small roof
over a front porch. They did such a poor job at rehanging a gutter that
it all but fell off over the past winter. The gutter leaks between the
soffit and gutter because they did not use enough hangers when they
rehung the gutter during the patio roof install. I gave them the
opportunity to come back and fix but they blew me off and never
responded to my request. I recently had a family member ask me for this
companies contact info because they wanted to add a patio roof to their
home. I told them I do not recommend this company for obvious reasons.
