"We at G Contracting certainly understand your frustration with the pricing of your girlfriends tile project. I’m sure the whole experience of a truck driving into her kitchen was devastating. We do in fact use laborers to demo floor tile as this is common practice in our industry. These men are also skilled in landscaping in the spring, summer, and fall months. Being that this was mentioned a few times by you I am assuming you do not agree with our use of labor and given the chance to run a construction company you would do things differently which I certainly do understand. I do not agree that it makes how we operate wrong. Any thinset left on the floor was to be removed by my tile installer the following week when the installation portion of the project was to begin. I am also sympathetic to the frustration with the inflated installation price. When tile selection was changed from standard lay 13 x 13 to 20 x 20 with a rectified edge laid on a 45 degree angle I had no option but to charge according to what the new scope will cost G Contracting in additional labor and material to get the project completed to our high standards. I am in fact glad to hear that you were able to find a company to work within your budget on this project and I sincerely apologize if this sentiment came across as a negative attitude when speaking on the phone. I was being absolutely sincere. The photos you posted do not accurately represent our workmanship. We have photo documentation of the way we left your floors. If you’d be so kind to accurately represent how we left your floors cleaned and prepped, we would greatly appreciate it. We wish your girlfriend the best of luck with the remainder of her insurance claim. Thank you"
"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for the wonderful review. We are pleased that you love the work we have done thus far at your home. We look forward to providing the upmost quality, for any work you need done in the future. It has always been a pleasure working for you!"
The job seemed to start well, but as time went on, the crew began making some mistakes with the layout of the tile, bad craftsmanship in the install tile and grout, and many other items which as the project proceeded we found we had to make them correct. During the work we had made these items aware to Lowes and their project manager did her best to try to keep us happy. In the end, when the project was "complete", which occurred 2 days AFTER thanksgiving and our family stressed over the whole experience we reviewed the work in detail and made many notes and took many pictures of the poor work quality including a cracked tub which was then sent to Lowes to describe our dissatisfaction.
Lowes made good on this issue by offering to have the work corrected at no extra cost to us, and they brought in G Contracting. Jonathan and the project manager came out to review the remodel and he made us aware of what he can and would be able to do to make us happy, he made no promises he could not keep, he and his crew lived up to those promises and went beyond our expectations. Even though the bathroom was still the same design, materials and color, his crew made a huge noicable difference to us and our family just in the quality of the work they performed.
I cannot recommend enough to give this company a chance to provide a service they offer. I also would recommend if you go with the big box stores to finance your project, you should definitely request this company.
We met with our contractor at the home site to go over the details of the demolition and to schedule the work. We were under time constraints and they were able to accommodate us by scheduling the work for a Saturday. They pointed out that many of the items in the home could be recycled. They had several workers strip the home of recyclable materials prior to the demolition. The actual demolition was done neatly and quickly. Several workers kept the home site and surrounding areas clean during the demolition work. The home was demolished, the lot was free of debris, and re-graded in 1 day.
No matter what problem came up these guys had the expertise and know how to resolve the situation and keep the job moving.
I know I would not have had this comfort to care for these un forseen issues with another contractor.
