I watched as they did the work and was impressed by Ed's handling of the equipment - safely and without hitting anything unintentionally. Ed's a local contractor who gave me direct answers and an accurate estimate without any pressure or vague promises.
Description of Work: I had a badly cracked, 30 year old asphalt driveway, about 18 x 43 ft. Ed started to talk about replacing the broken parts of it, to save cost. I wanted a new drive instead, so he quoted me on 3 individual stages: remove the old asphalt, evaluate the stone base to see if it was deep enough and then add 2 inches of road-grade asphalt. On the first day, he removed the asphalt and found the base to be ok, so it would have been $1545 had I gone with the 2" of asphalt. I decided to add 3" for durability, bringing the total cost to $2000, which was better than one other estimate and about the same as a third estimate. He came back 2 days later and laid down the asphalt with a medium sized paver and roller. The work was neat and confined to the drive and cleanup was good.
