We just had our foyer/hallway tiled with large format (12" x 24") Italian porcelain tile. It was re-do of the work done by someone else
that turned out just terrible. The surface was so uneven it was unpleasant to walk on (we could almost stub our toes!). The store owner, Deb, is not only knowledgeable, but she is prompt and very helpful (I should add that she is also kind and sweet to boot!). We highly recommend Distinctive Tile and Stone. It has been a real pleasure working with Deb and her family. Her son, Eirik, is a true craftsman, and does installation like no other (you do pay for his expertise, but it's well worth it). Now the floor is flat, smooth, and a pleasure to walk on! I can't imagine going to anyone else! We are starting on the bathroom remodel next week with Deb and Eirik.

Great Experience. If you want custom work for just a bit more than every other game in town, go visit Deb at Distinctive Tile. Deb helped from the beginning with great ideas and then she visited our home so she knew exactly what we were looking for. Her son, Erik, did the installation. It was a work in progress and we fine tuned the design as he progressed. He has great pride in his work and the end result really showed that. Deb ordered extra material so that we could work on the design as we went, and then bought back the extra full cases of material of the end of the projecct. We love our new backsplash!

I recently purchased tile for my kitchen backsplash from Deb at Distinctive Tile and also hired her son, Eirik Breininger, to install it. If you are shopping for any tile or stone you must stop into this store, it is beautiful and you will be inspired. I immediately felt a huge difference from the other tile showrooms I had been shopping in. Deb is warm and genuinely cares about each customer's project and is happy to take the time to work with you as you figure out what is going to look and work best in your home. When you work with her you feel like you are her only customer. She went out of her way to make sure we were completely satisfied with the end result, and provided excellent customer service at every stage of the project. Deb herself came to my house and measured my kitchen before providing an estimate. She matched a price for me on the tile I wanted. Eirik's installation was flawless, and you can tell he really enjoys the work. He was so positive and cheerful and extremely talented ... we really enjoyed watching him work in our home! He had great ideas for a few creative touches, and we are absolutely thrilled with our gorgeous backsplash. Stop in and talk to Deb for yourself, you will not regret it!!!

Background: After some loose tiles and excessive mildew growth in the shower, our bathroom was in need of help... I obtained a few quotes and one of them was from Distinctive Tile & Stone. When I first arrived at the shop, Deb and Jack greeted me and suggested that I schedule time for a bathroom measurement with their son Eirik (who installs the tile) so that they would have a good understanding of what to supply. After measuring the bathroom, Eirik developed a quotation that included many options as we were considering both a shower repair and total bathroom remodel. Impressions: Both Deb and Eirik take a lot of pride in their work, which was evident within our first few moments of interaction. Deb's focus on customer service is among the best we've experienced. We have undertaken several home improvement projects this year, which have required us to deal with many different shops and contractors, and we haven't found anyone more customer focused than Distinctive Tile & Stone. The Store: Although the store is small, there is a huge selection of beautiful ceramic tiles, natural stone, and mosaics. You name it, they probably have it and in three different varieties. I found it a little bit difficult to shop around without Deb's help because the cost was not clearly marked on the tile samples, however Deb was able to identify many options for us at various price points. As you would expect with a high quality product, their tile cost slightly more than the tile you will find at a large home improvement store, but it also comes with a level of expertise that you wouldn't receive at a Lowe's or Home Depot. Once the bathroom measurements were completed, my wife and I consulted with Deb at the shop, and she accurately assessed our style preferences. This was really the fun part and Deb had a lot of great ideas and suggestions that we incorporated into our bathroom design. Since we were on a budget, we had a second meeting, that Eirik also attended, to discuss ways that we could save some cost but not lose the design elements we desired. Even though we had not paid anything up to this point, Deb and Eirik showed a great amount of interest and dedication to our project. The Install: The tile order and installation went smoothly. It took Eirik a little bit longer to do it than he originally thought (9 days instead of 6) but he did an outstanding job! Much of the time was spent preparing the surfaces so that it would all fit together during the install. Eirik clearly has a lot of experience in tile installation and he was able to answer all of my many questions. His dedication and work ethic were extraordinary, and we found him to be extremely reliable. Bottom Line: Go to the shop, meet with Deb. She will treat the project like it is her own and give you a final product you will love!
