I placed a $100 bid on a silver fountain pen. Upon researching the pen on the internet I decided I had way over bid. I returned approximately one week prior to the end of the auction and ask an attendant how to change my bid. The woman said that she had to do it and after checking my identification, she changed the bid to $50.00 and initialed the change.
When the auction ended I was told that I had won but I would have to pay the original $100.00. The owner said his employee should not have changed the bid. I checked with other employees who told me that they do it all the time.
Be careful here, this is not the first incident I have had here. I will be filing a Better Business Bureau complaint and will never attend any more of these auctions.
