In early September of this year, my wife and I began shopping around for about 750 sf of new carpeting for our basement family room. I still had such a negative impression of Bastian from our experience in the 90's that I wasn't even going to consider them, even though they were the nearest full service carpet retailer to our home. We only decided to shop there because of a sales flyer we received from them after we had started shopping around. To our surprise, our entire experience was excellent. The sales woman who helped us was very knowledgeable and helpful.. She answered all of our questions and helped us select the rug that we ultimately purchased. The individual who came to our home to get the room layout and measurements for their estimate was equally professional. Today the new carpet and padding was installed by two very friendly and courteous installers who did an excellent job of removing the old carpet, installing the new padding and carpet and cleaning up when they were finished. I would not hesitate to buy flooring products from Bastian Carpet One again or to recommend them to family and friends.
I did find Bastian to be slightly more expensive than some of their competitors, but with Bastian's promotional pricing in early September the difference in cost on a roughly $4,400 purchase was literally only a few dollars.
