"We loved being able to assist you each time you need us. It was truly our pleasure."
to one of the big boxed stores. As I was talking to with an interior designer, she suggested that I go to Abbey Carpeting in Center Township, PA. When I arrived I was met by an associate named Alicia Scarpone. She was exceptional and she knew the products and after talking with her, she knew exactly what I would probably need and like. Well, say no more, I have been purchasing all my carpeting, flooring, tile, and custom made carpeting from Abbey Carpeting since. They will work with you to find exactly what you want or need and the service and installation is superb. I have never had an issue in all these years and I just purchased another new home and used them for all my carpeting, floors and tile. I would highly recommend Abbey Carpeting to anyone for all your flooring, tile, stone and hardwood or anything that you might be looking for. Trust me, you won't be disappointed if you shop at Abbey Carpeting and Floor in Centet Township, PA
"Thanks for the great review. Loved everything you selected!"
The work was performed as contracted. After the grout dried there were some areas that were missed and needed filled in. The installer came back promptly to correct the problem. The other minor problem was that the installer must have touched the bathroom door handle when grouting as dried grout has left the handle in need of being replaced, but on their behalf I never contacted the company to be able to address or rectify this problem.
"Thank you for the review. We always do our best to make sure the project is done just right the first time. Thank you for letting us know of your concerns. I am glad to hear we handled them to your satisfaction. I wish you would have mentioned the door knob. We certainly would have made that right. It is never to late let us know of a concern. We look forward to working with you again in the future."
Our work was scheduled to be done in two phases, to accommodate moving furniture between rooms. Instead, all the work was done in one phase, which left us scrambling to move heavy objects around. During the floor installation, we noticed that the contractor was installing unfinished quarter rounds around our baseboards. Since the baseboards are stained a different color than the floor, we brought this to the contractor's attention to ensure the quarter rounds would match our baseboards (especially since we had given them a sample of the baseboard before work even started). We were assured that the crew finishing the floors would take care of it, no problem. Unfortunately, that was not the case. When the finishing crew came, they informed us not only that they couldn't stain the quarter rounds a different color, they also needed to have every closet in our house emptied. After running around our house trying to shove clothes in any available spot (which there weren't many since like I mentioned, they didn't phase the work as originally planned), we spoke with Mark at Abbey Carpet and Floor, who told us that of course they couldn't stain the quarter rounds separate. According to him, our order was scheduled to have the quarter rounds stained the same color as the floor - despite us giving them a baseboard sample before they began work and bringing the unfinished quarter rounds to their attention during the work.
The and quot;workand quot; was completed by 5 July 2013, with the exception of the quarter rounds that needed replaced through the entire house. Abbey Carpet and Flooring assured us that they would take care of it without additional cost to us - but it took over 2 weeks to be fixed. Two weeks of not being able to get furniture where it belonged because the quarter rounds ran through the entire house. My husband routinely called them, and at one point, their reasoning for not having the work done was because and quot;David is on vacation.and quot; Mind you, David is not responsible for staining quarter round or replacing quarter round, so his vacation schedule shouldn't have impacted our work. After waiting nearly 2 weeks for the quarter rounds to be fixed, I went directly to Abbey Carpet and Floor to voice our displeasure with their customer service and to get our quarter rounds fixed. The receptionist informed me that they were waiting on a color choice - I pointed out that they already had a sample of our baseboards, and my husband visited them the week before to ensure that the right stain was chosen. Low and behold, the receptionist found the sample in our file, which had the color of the stain written on the back of it. We were then promised that the new quarter rounds would be stained immediately, and that they'd rip out the old ones (since the old quarter rounds now had splashes of stain from the floor color on them). Much to our surprise, that weekend my husband encountered the contractor in our house with a quart of stain trying to stain the existing quarter rounds IN PLACE. So they lied about staining new ones, and were trying to be cheap and fix what was there. Thankfully, the contractor realized this wasn't going to work, and headed back to the shop. When it was all said and done, it was 24 July 2013 before the quarter rounds were replaced with the appropriately stained quarter rounds.
Again, while the craftsmanship was top notch (our floors look great, and the new quarter rounds match the baseboard perfectly) the customer service was below par. I have no intentions of ever doing my floors again, so that is why I selected that I would not use this provider in the future. Truth be told, it's hard to say - while we like the quality, I have no desire to deal with their personnel again. We selected Abbey Carpet and Floor based on rave reviews from friends, but I would think for the size of the project we had, they could do a little better on customer service. The customer should not have to enter the store to demand they fix their own mistake. At the time of my discussion with them, I did tell them that if they did not fix their mistake I planned on ranking them with an F on Angie's List. Since did eventually make good (albeit slowly) I gave them a C overall.
"Thank you for your honest review. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have faced. We hope we will have to opportunity of working with you in the future."
The service at the Aliquippa store is outstanding. They are patient and helpful. Installation was well-done. A small issue in one of the bedrooms was fixed as soon as I expressed concern.
If I had additional rooms to carpet I would go back.
"Thank you for the feedback. We enjoyed working with you."
"Thanks for the review."
