Excellent. Chris and his crew were totally professional and did an excellent job in replacing both a central AC unit and a heat pump.

Very impressed with installation and performance over a five-month heating season. Dustin came out on multiple occasions to review and answer questions I had before committing. Installation by Kevin & Jose went methodically and extremely well. They reviewed and responded to my input on the installation details and contacted the office each time to ensure satisfaction with any adjustments. They were professional and thorough. I'm very happy I went with this company.

Chris Colfer, General Manager, came out right away to give me a quote for the project.   He offered a couple of different options for both furnaces and air conditioner systems that would meet my needs and we quickly agreed on a solution.  Chris and his crew arrived exactly when they said they would to do the work and were extremely professional and easy to work with.  They did an outstanding job on the installation and left the basement very clean afterwards.  Highly recommend.

Great job cleaning them and cleaning up, and gave great advice on potential installation and ideas for wood burning/wood pellet stoves.

I was quoted $615.00 for the job for parts and three hours of labor.  When the job only took two hours to complete I called the office to question the charge and ask for an adjustment. I was told Rick would have to call me back. On Monday 9/16 I had not heard from Rick so I called again.  I explained that although the paperwork indicated the service man arrived at 0800 he actually did not get there until 0826 and that he was finished before 1030.  I requested an adjustment to the charge reflecting two hours of service instead of three and I was flatly told by Rick that they do not adjust quotes.  I do not have any issue with the work that they did, I don't even care that the service man was late but I feel I overpaid for the service since it did not take the three hours they expected and quoted.  I have used this service since the build of our house in 2005, but I will most definitely look elsewhere in the future.
Response from D & D Heating & Cooling Inc
"(Removed Member Name) was quoted a flat rate price prior to the start of the job which was agreed upon. This was not billed as a time and material job..The charge would have been the same whether it took 2 hours or 6 hours. Due to issues that occur when working on older boilers the times vary. Our highly trained and experienced service technician completed the job in the alotted amount of hours. We feel this price was more than fair in comparison to our competitors. We apoligize if you feel mistreated, but we strive to provide the best service possible for a fair price."

As always, each member of their team---from the initial phone call to the tech coming to do the work--was courteous, prompt, and knowledgeable.  We've been using D & D for 7+ years and have a service contract with them. We have always been very happy with their service, reliability, promptness, and professionalism.  They are very responsive when we have a problem,  and always explain everything to us in a clear, concise and respectful manner.  We highly recommend D & D and have been very happy and satisfied with them, their cost, and their superb customer service and work rendered.

I scheduled the service originally for the week that hurricane Sandy hit.  They were very cooperative to reschedule.  The technician appeared to be competent and noted that the stove pipe collar needs to be replaced on his next visit.  Made a note of it for next year.  In addition, suggested to add oil treatment to the oil tank for an additional $19.00 which made sense to do.  Overall, pleased with the service.

They explained the system carefully, spent lots of time with us discussing the different options, and worked with us so that we could postpone install until rebates were available.  We really are happy with our new Lennox system, although the system was a little bigger than we expected.  They did warn us that it was big, but there was more clearance behind it than we had planned for.
They helped us set up the remote connection to the new thermostat, which lets us control the temperature from our phones. so we can keep our costs down, but still come home to a warm house.  They new system is saving us lots of money on heat, as we now use our oil furnace only for backup.  They even filled out the rebate paperwork for us - we only needed to sign and mail.  After the rebates, the new system didn't cost any more than another company had quoted us for just a replacement central air conditioning system.  We really love our new system, and are really happy with D&D.

I called D&D regarding a condensate leak from my heater and they made a service call on 2/17/2012 and rerouted my condensate tubing from the outside to a solid collection pit in my basement. I wasn't aware that it was solid and D&D didn't ask or check to see that it was. They had been out for service call for same problem 6/2007 and replaced my condensate box without addressing the outside location of the tubing being a problem. I was quoted $98.00 for the recent February service and I paid. After that I noticed that the pit was overflowing with the condensate, flooding my floor. I called D&D and spoke to Cris Colfer, (relative D&D family business), who was very rude and blamed the builder for improperly installing the tubing outside.Chris said that that the pit probably always did that and said that I probably never noticed it. I then called my seeling realtor who said that the pit was solid and was shocked that a professional would hook up drainage to it.I then called D&D again and spoke to Rick Colfer, brother, who again blamed the builder and said that he couldn't help me. His tone was arrogant and insensitive. He said that I needed to call a plumber to install a drain OR sump pump. I asked if D&D could install a drain since the flood was a consequence of their service. He adamantly said"No". Being a divorced mom with NO child support, I said that a plumber isn't affordable. He said he couldn't help me. I then requested a refund and he became very angry and told me to ask the builder for a refund. I said that I wasn't happy with their service and wouldn't use them again nor endorse them.I said that I would file a complaint either in small claims or an agency. He sarcastically said" Go ahead-I LOVE to go to small claims!"  Then he mumbled what sounded like a profanity.I filed a complaint with the BBB as well and he replied with a letter which was full of lies, justifying their service and accusing me of harassment.I had to pay $115 to correct the  overflow problem.
Response from D & D Heating & Cooling Inc
"Due to Angie’s List limited reply length, I will make this short. D & D Heating & Cooling, Inc. denies Ms. (Member) claims. The condensate line was replaced and properly ran to a working sump pump as per local codes and manufacturer’s specifications. This was done at a greatly reduced price for Ms. (Member) because she asserted she had no money. She agreed and signed the work order for the repair as documented. As for her having to pay someone $115 for drilling a whole into the bottom of her sump pump to drain, this causes her to be out of the local building code and she now bears the sole responsibility. The proper remedy was to replace the sump pump. It is quite obvious that this woman is distraught because of a failed marriage and feels her only redemption in life is to harass generous hardworking small business people who are doing everything in the realm of possibility to provide an honest and fair service. Her letter to the Better Business Bureau obviously held no merit so she resorted to use Angie’s List to further her harassment of a totally unreasonable complaint. D & D Heating & Cooling has not stayed in business for 40 years be servicing their customer as Ms. (Member) allegedly claims. Sincerely, Richard S Colfer President"

The AC simply needed refridgerant.

I believed this should have been checked during the annual maintenance I had in the spring of 2011.  I asked for and received a refund for the service call.
