JDALLAS INC

We got 3 estimates to cut down a row of old cedar trees, replant the area with arborvitae and do some basic landscaping around our house. We ended up choosing JDallas, Inc. because we liked the work shown on his website and thought he had good ideas when it came to the actual design. When we met with Josh Dallas he told us this was a two day job, maximum. I am fortunate enough to work from home and my "office" is usually in the kitchen next to a window where the tree line was to be removed. About an hour into the project, I hear a large BANG and know immediately a tree has fallen over and hit part of my house. Strike 1. I decided to wait until they were done cutting down the trees in that area before I went out and surveyed the damage. I figured if it had been bad, someone would have knocked on my door. No knock ever came. About an hour goes by and I notice things getting a bit warm in the house and check the thermostat. It's set at 69 but the inside temp is 75. I check a nearby vent and feel no cold air. Immediately I know what the tree hit when it fell. I walked outside and asked the foreman (the only English speaking person doing the work) what happened. He claimed he didn't know what I was talking about. Strike 2! I informed him that my AC wasn't working and pointed out the HUGE dent on my compressor unit and the left over tree particles that were left on it. He asks me what I want him to do about it. Strike 3. I told him to call his boss and let him know. I immediately ran in the house and phoned my AC guy who was at my home in under 45 minutes, the day before the first heatwave of the season. Luckily, I get the AC unit fixed in record time. Josh never called to see what happened and what, if anything, he could do. He showed up 7 hours later and acted like I was in the wrong for calling the AC guy. Strike 4 and it goes down hill from here. Josh says they'll be back the next morning to finish the job. The next morning comes, they plant the remaining 3 trees, put down some mulch and leave. I then call Josh to see when the rest of the work was going to be completed, since it was supposed to be a 2 day job. Every day for 2 weeks he said he was coming back but never did. I finally started planting my own plants. FINALLY, he came back and planted ferns, hostas and other shade loving plants in full sun. Needless to say, they didn't make it and to this day, Josh has not come back to replace these dead plants. Over 30% of the plants Josh planted have already died with another 15 to 20% well on their way to crispy. Many of the details I discussed with JDallas, Inc. were not followed, at all. Besides all the dead plants, my landscaping looks like it belongs in an office park. Not at all what we wanted. The owner is rude, unprofessional and has the personality of one of the dead plants sitting on my property. We regret the day we hired him to do our landscaping and would never recommend JDallas, Inc.
