Garrett and Matt were very professional but also easy to talk to throughout the whole process. We had two "guiding principles" for the project. Don't exceed our budget (unless we asked for more) and make the house look like a single house not an old house with a modern addition. They met both principles superbly (although there were about $10,000 in overruns due to unforeseen issues from a 1924 bungalow, some foundation issues, and some project modifications that we requested.
We were able to live in the old part of the house for half the project until they started to tie the addition into the old section. They cleaned up nicely every day.
I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail in keeping the "flavor" and style of a 1920's bungalow. The material used was of the highest quality including the workmanship of the built-in window seats, cabinetry and clothing drawers. They also took care to save and re-use our 1890's french doors and our existing deck.
Matt was the architect and project manager. He was very hands-on and worked on the house almost every day of the project. His attention to detail and perfectionism definitely impacted the success of the project.
The cost included consultations with an interior designer who  helped us keep costs down by finding good deals on the hardware.
All in all, this was a very positive experience.

We worked with Garrett Rupp, Contractor, and Matt Greiner, Architect, both of Rupp Family Builders.  Both worked diligently to assist with house lift/basement renovation/home remodel.  Matt's drawing were creative and insightful, and he was happy to work with our personal designer.  Both men were respectful, timely, communicative and attentive to detail. All work completed (bids/drawings) was delivered in writing.  Unfortunately for us, the project far exceeded our budget and we were unable to proceed with renovation.  Garrett, in fact, went above and beyond to try to fit the project into our budget but we just couldn't get close enough for comfort.  That being said, they were the third group hired and came the closest. We have since learned a lot about both renovations and contractors and would heartily recommend this team.

The job was done under budget by some $2,000. The Rupp crews were professional and courteous to us.  At the end of the day everything was left tidy and in order. The Rupp employees were very considerate of our new Rescue dog and ensured that he did not get out. (He's a runner!). The only problems we encountered were that the subcontractors (granite and cabinet guys) did not follow the agreed upon schedule that they had previously committed to Rupp. As a result, the completion of the job was delayed. Again, these problems were not the fault of Rupp Family Builders.

I would again use Rupp Family Builders for another project and give them my highest recommendation!
