Nathan Lawrence, owner-operator of Good News Tree Service, Inc. of Wilsonville, Oregon, is a second generation horticulturists and an ISA Certified Arborist with more than 40 years professional experience. GNTS, Inc. has been serving Wilsonville, Charbonneau and the surrounding areas since 1985. Nathan has an ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification, is an OSU Master Gardener, is an ODA Licensed Commercial Pesticide Applicator and a master aesthetic pruner. The differing communications did leave Nathan in the position of choosing which direction to follow on the day the work was scheduled to be done. I understand his response, but with the considerable discrepancy in heights and the irreversible nature of the work, I remain disappointed that the work went forward when it became evident that there was a known conflict.
In retrospect, my neighbor and I, rather than merely discussing the height, should have jointly agreed to and marked the height prior to my leaving town. I have no problem standing by my (mostly Excellent) ratings of Nathan and Good News Tree Service.
"These arborvitaes were on [member name removed] neighbor's property, who initiated the call to Good News Tree Service. The neighbor tied ribbons in the arborvitaes at the level he wanted us to cut them and we cut them at the level that the owner of the arborvitaes requested. Evidently there was a miscommunication between Randy and his neighbor as to the height that they would be cut. That was not the fault of Good News Tree Service because they followed the instructions of the owner of the arborvitae hedge. When we trimmed the arborvitaes, Randy was traveling out of the state and was therefore unavailable for input at the time of service."
