My name is Erik and I have been in construction for over 20 years. I have worked with several employers over the years and have gained a lot of experience in the field. I have lived in the Portland area for almost 10 years and so I made the decision to obtain my CCB license and start my own construction company. I do not have any employees currently, I am a small business owner and I love to work with homeowners to create, build, and transform ideas into reality.

Services we offer
The sevices I offer are in home construction and remodeling. These services include tile and hardwood flooring, framing walls and finish them inside and out. I am able to demo and rebuild specialized projects with an eye for details. I frame roofs, skylights, int/ext trim and fine wood working. My speciality is building composit decks and patio covers. This last year I built a counter top for a coffee shop in Cannon Beach out of recycled bowling ally lanes. I am a carpenter and an artist.

I do not lay carpet or linoleum. I don't do electrical or plumbing. I am not a Handyman. I do not work on cars or computers, boats, diesel engines, welding, glass cutting, ect......
Really well. Eric is dependable, talented and a very good worker. He went over our plans and was very patient with me changing my mind about the size of the pillars our home needed. (more than once!) He showed up on time and practiced a methodical and consistently good work ethic throughout the day. He met our expectations completely and we wouldn't hesitate to use him again for future projects.
Description of Work: Replace rotting pillars at the front porch of our circa 1898 home.

Went good ... See above.
Description of Work: I was looking for more of a handyman and they usually inly do larger jobs, so it wasn't the right fit, but he was very professional and knowledgeable and showed me pictures of some nice looking projects he had done. A lot of big decks and stairs. I was impressed and would use him for a large framing project like that.

Our old porch was built in 1984 when the house was built. It was wooden with wooden handrails. Every year my husband had to sand it down and repaint it. Then, a few years ago, it got dry rot. We nursed it along - resanding and repainting every year. We finally decided to replace it this Spring and instead of wood, we went with Trex. Trex looks like wood - lots of color choices - but never needs to be sanded or repainted. You just power wash it a couple times a year. We heard about Erik Dahlberg from friends, and he came over to give us some options and ideas - and he gave us an estimate once we decided to go with Trex instead of treated wood. We could not be more pleased. Our new porch is beautiful! Start to finish this job took him 6 days. He is very efficient and professional and just a really nice guy. Feel free to stop by and check out our new porch! Erik gets our highest recommendation!
Description of Work: Erik took off our front porch and built us a new one - handrails and all. This porch has 3 landings and a total of 8 stairs.

It went great! Erik is a fantastic hard worker, and left the workspace clean and neat at the end of every day.
Description of Work: I hired Erik to perform some demolition in my basement to prepare it for a remodel. He was prompt, courteous, clean and competent. I have and will hire him again for carpentry work and finish work on the basement when I get to it.

Erik promptly came out and gave us a bid for the work. When we selected him he scheduled the job and It turns out there was much more hidden work that needed to be done than in the quote. Erik kept us informed and involved in the decision making process every step of the way. He was polite, dependable and respectful. We have already talked with him about doing another job for us!

First off, Eric was professional and listened to our needs and wants in how we wanted the bathroom to look at the completion of the project. The craftsmanship is excellent. Quality work and products used. The final costs of the job matched the original bid exactly. We both think we got a great deal on this remodel and would highly recommend Eric to friends and family members needing general contract work on their homes. I understand that he has in depth experience in deck work. We will be using his services again as soon as we save the funds to replace our deck. We really could not be more pleased with the work Eric has provided. Oh yes, he finished the job when he said he would and he answered his phone on a Saturday when I needed his advise. Everything in regards to our bathroom remodel was performed correctly and the end results look amazing! Jack and Karen Henniger

1. Home inspector discovered fungus growing from our siding. Window trim was soft to the touch. 2. Erik came and gave us an initial quote 3. Erik removed all the bad siding and window trim. Some of the framing had been damaged as well. 4. He showed us the improper / inadequate flashing (1.5 inches). Pretty cheap, terrible stuff was originally used. 5. He replaced the flashing with a much higher quality flashing product (4+ inches), and replaced the needed framing, tyvek, insulation, and siding. 6. When he was done, my house looked like it did the day I bought it! Erik was great to work with, and I'd happily use him again if the need came up.
Description of Work: During a home inspection, dry rot was discovered because of improper installation of the flashing when our house was built in 2002. For 10 years, water had been leaking and causing damage, and we only discovered it when we were selling our house in 2013. A friend of ours referred us to Erik. He came at once and gave us a good quote. Then he lived up to it and was super professional. He removed all the siding, took appropriate photos for our home inspector, and showed us all the damage. Then he got all the materials, fixed it up, and now it looks just like it does when the day we bought our house.
