Tree Care Unlimited LLC is a professional tree service and arborist company, serving Lake Oswego, West Linn and the surrounding and greater Portland area. For years we have been providing home and business owners with a variety of services, including tree pruning and trimming, tree removal, planting, tree cabling, land clearing, stump removal, lightning protection, and tree health and pest management. Our office hours are Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm but we are available 24/7 for hazard support.

We had a great experience with Tree Care Unlimited! From start to finish they were awesome. Scheduled with Travis who was friendly, helpful and easy to work with. Steve came out promptly and provided a very reasonable quote and had great information to share about our trees. Josh and Hayden did an excellent job removing two problem trees as well as trimming back a cyprus that was leaning on our fence. They were prompt, hard working and did terrific clean up. Prompt, friendly, and affordable - what more could you ask!! Highly recommend and will definitely use again!

Had a great experience using them! They were fast to come out and give me a quote, were very responsive and easy to get a hold of when I had questions, and were super friendly (both of the people who came out--for the quote and services). It went very well. The team of two arborists were prompt, friendly and professional. They were able to access the tree from a cherry-picker attached to their truck parked on the road. They had the tree cut down in about 90 minutes. They chipped the small stuff and left the big stuff, cut into about 18-24" logs. The only thing that didn't go smoothly was one errant limb damaged a newly planted espaliered fruit tree, but they worked with me to resolve that quickly and fairly.

Steve Phoenix was very professional to work with. He was punctual to his appointments and had excellent communication skills, We received his bid within a week and he worked with our schedule to choose a time that was appropriate to our wishes. His employees were arrived when scheduled and were easy to work with. All the work was completed to our satisfaction and the beds were cleared of debris upon completion.

Several trees in my garden needed pruning. I use Tree and Lawn Care Unlimited to spray my trees and shrubs several times a year and have been very satisfied with their service, so I called them for an estimate. I received an estimate on Monday, and the work was completed on Tuesday. The estimate was thorough, and Micah made sure he knew exactly what results I was looking for. My apple tree had a broken limb, so I knew it needed extensive pruning, but it provides shade for the lily of the valley, ferns and trillium that I have been nursing along for several years, so I wanted to make sure they could preserve as much cover as possible. When the two men showed up to do the work, they were on time, and made sure that they really understood what needed doing and what results I expected. They worked carefully (they were especially careful of my shade garden) and checked in with me as they worked to make sure I approved the results. They even let me know when they were taking a lunch break. They cleaned up and left everything tidy and in good shape. Their spraying service is excellent. The technician is always ready to answer questions if I have any. I would recommend their services to anyone, and look forward to working with them in the future.

Not well. They were very slow to respond and didn't return phone call promptly. They never kept us updated on the status of things. They never finished finish the job, and never gave us a clear answer why. I would never hire them again.

"Tree Care was hired to do several phases of tree work in a homeowners association community to include procuring permits for two hazardous tree removals in a "Very sensitive wetlands habitat". The only issue was with the hazardous tree removals. The other tree work was performed in a prompt and professional manner. Acquiring the permits from the City of Portland was difficult. It took three weeks and information from four separate departments to just reveal the "Steps" required to obtain "Sensitive Permits" from the City of Portland. Information was given to Member as we received it. Tree Care appreciates these comments, will make improvements and take decisive action."

AVOID AT ALL COST. Crew tried to leave after completing about 40% of work. When called back, they dropped a branch that broke flower pots (and did not report damage), butchered the maple tree and lsnuck off without completing work. Neither of the two crew member spoke or understood English, which required calling Craig back each time. At this point, I am awaiting promised cleaning up of damage to maple tree (about 2 weeks after promised).

They did a great job. Their landscape designer has a good eye and is a good communicator. She provided a written project proposal and bid. When logistical complications arose during installation, the installation team found appropriate replacement materials and work-through solutions. They were prompt, courteous, and kept the site tidy. After installation, when one of the bamboo plants died, Tree Care rapidly made good on its pledge to replace plants that don't thrive; the lush, gigantic replacement is doing wonderfully. Finally, when the existing French drain system was negatively impacted by project-related soil transfer - not through fault of Tree Care - company representatives replaced the stretch of drain and topped it with fresh river rock. No extra charge. Right away so the yard would look great for a party we were hosting. They provided Nordstrom-caliber customer serve. We'll use them again.

PROMPT ESTIMATE. WORK SCHEDULED FOR A CERTAIN DATE AND CREW SHOWED UP ON A DIFFERENT DATE WHILE I WAS AT WORK SO I WAS UNABLE TO SEE WHAT WAS BEING DONE. ATTITUDE SEEMED TO BE, "OH, WELL." CREW RETURNED TO DO STUMP GRINDING WITH NO NOTICE AT ALL. DESTROYED SEVERAL SMALL SHRUBS IN THE PROCESS AND LEFT TWO VERY LARGE SURFACE ROOTS. NO EXPLANATION OR APOLOGY FOR DAMAGED PLANTS AND SO-SO CLEANUP ON BOTH DAYS. GOT THE BILL THOUGH, WITH NO DEDUCTION FOR WORK THAT WAS ESTIMATED BUT NOT DONE.

It went well. The two-man crew took approximately 5 hours (estimated 4-6 hrs). They hauled away all debris, cleaned up the bulk of the mess from the chipper (impossible to get all of the leaves). One item that I am still waiting a call back from, they chopped the trunk lower than what was originally discussed. Overall, it was a very good experience and they were the low bid as well.

It was necessary to wait for a 2nd leafing before pruning to see what was alive or dead. Pruning took place mid-May. It was a 'quickie' job; when I was told they were finished, I showed them more limbs and suckers I felt needed to come off. The man doing the actual pruning was reluctant, removing only part of what I requested. I called Craig on his cell after getting little help from their office. He was able to come by a few days later and he agreed the job wasn't finished. I know it's their busy season but it took a month (and additional phone calls) to get the work done - this time by a different and much more cooperative team. I had also asked for bids on 2 other trees; to date (mid-July) they've not appeared.

It took them a little while to get back to us and have someone come out to do an estimate (almost 2 weeks). However, once Craig got here, he was very professional and knowledgeable. We took a couple of days to make a decision and then the work was scheduled for 1.5 weeks later. The crew showed up promptly, were polite, quick, and cleaned up the tree removal thoroughly. My only criticism would be that one limb that was pruned on the hazelnut tree was a bit mangled. Otherwise, I think they did a fantastic job.

Although it took a few days to get a response to my initial phone call, once the call was returned the estimate was performed and the service was completed very quickly. Both of the representatives I met with were courteous and the job was well done. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

The estimator came to my home on time (in fact early, but called ahead to see if alright). Craig was very professional and able to address all of our concerns. We booked the job in a short period of time and the arborists who worked at our home were just as professional and courteous as the estimator. The job was done extremely well, quickly, and the job site was very clean when finished. We would certainly recommend their services and hire for future projects.

CRAIG OFFERED HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS WHILE LOOKING AT MY TREES AND PREPARING THE PROPOSAL. THE MEN WHO DID THE WORK WORKED HARD WITH LIMITED BREAKS, AND ASKED QUESTIONS TO BE SURE THEY WERE DOING THINGS THE WAY I WANTED THEM DONE. EVERYONE WAS POLITE AND ON TIME.

THIS COMPANY WAS EXCEPTIONAL. THEY SHOWED UP WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD AND COMPLETED THE JOB AHEAD OF TIME. THEY LEFT EVERYTHING THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE THEY GOT THERE, EXCEPT THE TREE IS GONE. THEY CLEANED UP ALL THE BRANCHES, LIMBS, ETC. CLEARED ALL THE WOOD CHIPS AND SAWDUST, AND LEFT THE TREE IN SECTIONS THAT WE WILL BE ABLE TO SPLIT AND USE IN OUR FIRE PLACE. WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED AND WILL USE THEM AGAIN IF NEEDED.

WE HAD AGREE ON A PRICE OF $150.00 FOR THE WORK TO BE PERFORMED. WHEN THEY WERE COMPLETING THE WORK, THE BRANCH ACTUALLY FELL IN THE WATER OF THE POND THAT WAS DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH THE BRANCH TO BE CUT OFF. THE GUY LEFT BUT THE NEXT MORNING WE CAME OUT AND ALL OF THE WATER HAD DRAINED OUT OF THE POND EXCEPT FOR A SMALL AREA IN THE MIDDLE WHERE ALL THE FISH SURVIVED. THE COMPANY COVERED THE EXPENSE TO GET ANOTHER POND LINER. THEY WERE UPSET TO HAVE TO DO THIS, BUT I EXPLAINED THAT THAT WAS WHY WE HIRED THEM TO DO THE JOB, BECAUSE WE DID NOT THINK THAT IT WOULD POSSIBLE TO REMOVE THE BRANCH WITHOUT DAMAGING THE POND. THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED TO COMPLETE SATISFACTION ON MY PART.
