Scott did a great job for me! He had creative solutions and we worked collaboratively to bring my kitchen ideas to reality. He was able to allow me time to make decisions and creatively approach the project. We metered out the work over several months so that it as done in stages that worked with my move-in time and allowed time for me to get to know the house before making design decisions. I have ended up with a beautiful farm house kitchen with french doors opening into the back yard, the original hard wood floors repaired, new counters that we found at low cost at the cabinet outlet in Portland. I added another set of french doors, mid project, to help to create a quiet space in an open floor plan. Scott did not hesitate, he heard what I wanted and made it happen.
He was able to provide good information, pros and cons about my desire to be 'green' and also economical. Not only was he skilled and creative but a really nice person to have around.
(The end cost of the entire remodel including Scott and other companies for painting, electrical, appliances and floor refinishing was
$48,000)

Did a great job. Took over tile job in bathroom after the original tile person backed out of job. Fireplace is beautiful and decorative. More than a usual fireplace. Currently has my key so if something needs to be done when I'm not here, he can get in and do repairs. Very personable. Can advise on issues I'm not sure of.

After having interviewed many contractors for a basement remodel job, I decided to hire Duel Construction, primarily because of the quality job done remodeling a friend's basement and because of how highly they regarded Scott's work. Scott (company owner) is articulate about outlining the scope and sequence of the work to be done, communicates well, is highly creative and a great problem solver. I was always made aware of what to expect as the job progressed from day to day. I own a 1923 bungalow with an addition tacked onto the back of the house. Since this put the original basement stairs in the middle of the house, my purpose for the remodel was to enhance air quality, reinforce the original basement walls, create a storage space (those of you who own older homes should identify with this) and to possibly make room for a small art studio in my 300 sq. foot 1/2 basement.. What I got is everything I asked for and more. If you are looking for a contractor for a large or small project, I highly recommend Duel Construction.
