Johnny Fix It

We have a big 1924 two-story house and all our downspouts had been routed to different dry wells. Each dry well had a problem and wasn't working. Rain was coming off our roof and being routed to our foundations walls! He had to figure it out and completely re-do it. He had to dig a new dry well, huge, in our back yard and then re-route all the spouts to drain into it.  Sometimes I'd watch him standing in the new dry well, 10 feet deep, dirty but cheerful, digging away.Johnny came every day. He rented the back-hoe and did the work himself. He's very confident and reliable.
What struck me was that after he was done, he replanted every last bush that was dug up and you can't tell any work was done except that our foundation is now dry.

It went well both places. I saw more of what went on at our house. To save our foundation from a gutter-drainage job that was incorrectly installed many years ago, Johnny had to install new gutters and dig ditches way out in to our yard on three sides. He is not afraid of hard work. The ditches were so deep that all you could see sometimes was just his face. As a result of his great work, a basement wall along the West side of our house is now dry where it had been damp before. That's a big relief. Johnny doesn't complain and his work is thorough. He replaced all the dirt and then replanted the plants that had to be displaced. Right down to the last little bush. I think everything survived. He tells you in advance what the charge will likely be and has you sign for it so that everybody knows in advance what to expect.. He's out go-to guy now for house repair.
