Great. This is the second time I've hired Spencer Construction to do a job for me. I was very pleased with the quality of the work. Spencer is very responsive, easy to reach, thorough, friendly, and does great work. I will definite hire him again in the future and recommend him to anyone with roofing needs.

Easy to work with and very thorough.
We got surprised by unexpected rain showers (and un-forecast). He showed up before dawn to spread tarps and protect our interior, (they had just striped the old roof off the previous day). I felt he and his team went over and above the call of duty to protect our place while still providing a quality roof job.
I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

He showed up when he should have. He cleaned up nicely. I would highly recommend him. We will use him every year.

There were no hidden costs, and the quality of work was well above average.
We had other quotes that were for sub-par work.
I don't want to have to replace my roof again any time soon!

Spencer and his roofing crew did an excellent job working all day Thursday, finishing Friday before noon. They were hardworking perfectionists.

Spencer has years of experience, partnered with patience which makes his ability to communicate, with people who have little knowledge of roofing, effective. He is very pleasant to work with as was his crew. There were no problems at all and they did exactly what was stated in the and quot;services performedand quot; section.

Spencer was wonderful. They did the job without any abrasion or surprises, I was really pleased with it. They did a fine job. Their pricing is middle of the road.

I emailed 3 roofing companies on Friday night 8/27 to request bids. All three called within the next 2 days to set up a time to meet me. Better yet, all three met me at exactly the agreed time, which was really important since I had to travel 1/2 hour from work to meet them. This is obviously a testament to the difficult economic situation in the building industry. I had all bids by 9/2. Spencer impressed me with his attention to detail, and obvious pride in his company and workers. He showed me a photo book showing the different phases of re-roofing, how they prepare, protect, and clean up the site, and examples of several similar jobs. During the inspection prior to bidding, Spencer noticed a rotted barge rafter on the west end, and included replacement of the rafter in the bid. He provided a written bid within a day, specifying IKO ArmourShake shingles. Meanwhile, I was having 2 other companies bid the job as well. One of the other companies bid CertainTeed Presidential Shake, and we liked that style and color shingle better than ArmourShake. I called Spencer and asked if he would install it instead of ArmourShake. It was a slight increase in price, but all of the bids were now within $300 of each other, so it came down to the company we felt most comfortable with. We had good friends who had also highly recommended Spencer, so we decided to go with them. They were backed up with several other jobs, so we had to wait about 3 1/2 weeks. Spencer and his crew showed up right on time at 7:30AM on 9/30. We have a difficult driveway to negotiate, but they backed all the equipment up our long driveway with no problems. They had a crew of 7, each with their own job for the day. They leaned 4x8' sheets of plywood up next to the house to protect windows and siding from falling debris. They also protected plants with plywood and tarps. As they tore up the shakes and tar paper, they rolled it onto itself, minimizing the amount of debris that fell into the attic. More on that later. They positioned a triple-axle debris trailer under the eaves of the house, and tossed the old roofing into the trailer. One worker spent a good portion of the day inside the debris trailer, packing it down so it would all fit. Once the tearoff was done, he cleaned up all debris around the house. I had replaced both bathroom fans prior to re-roofing, and arranged with Spencer to let me re-connect the wiring and vent ducts while the roof was open. The workers then proceeded to install the plywood sheathing and underlayment. The sheathing, underlayment, and shingle installation went very quickly. They worked until around 8PM before running out of daylight. They returned with a small crew the next day for a couple of hours to finish the job. The workmanship was excellent, and the roof looks great. They also thoroughly cleaned up around the house. Later I checked the unfinished attic, and surprisingly found very little debris on top of the insulation. This was easly cleaned up, since most was under the peak of the roof. We would definitely recommend Spencer Construction for your re-roofing job.

Removal trailers were dropped off the day before, then the crew started late morning since previous job ran late. Finished everything in just over 48 hours - amazing! They are professionals, efficiently orchestrating supplies, equipment and workers over the compressed span of the job. The work was excellent, and just as promised in their detailed contract. I would not hesitant to recommend this company to anyone. In fact, I already have - in a complete coincidence, a friend who did not know about my roof replacement emailed a group I belong to asking for information on roofers. I said "drive by and see mine at work". She did and later asked for their phone number.

Excellent. They arrived right on time, completed the tear off and structiral repair on day one, reroofed on day two and were gone by noon.

Spencer is prompt and professional, both with the estimate and with the actual work. The crew showed up promptly and I thought for a moment it was an Extreme Home Makeover episode with the amount of equipment and crew. They did my complete roof in a few hours. They protected my windows, plants, etc. and the cleanup was total. They even removed some other debris not related to the job. I would not hesitate to recommend Spencer Construction to anyone.

They did an excellent job. Spencer, the company owner, almost always answers the phone when you call him and is pleasant to talk to. He had a professional portfolio and was very helpful in providing information on what type of roofing materials to buy. He brought in a large crew of 8-10 guys and they had the job done in 2.5 days. It was quite astounding to watch. Afterwards they cleaned up nicely. Little bits of roofing material were on my lawns, but these would have been impossible to fully pick up. As part of the contract, we negotiated that he would also do some minor repair to my gutters patching some holes and leaks. He wasn't able to get to this until approximately 1.5 months after the roof had been replaced and the job was paid for, but he did ultimately get it done and saved me the expense of a separate gutter repair or replacement. Overall, I was very pleased with the job. I would not hesitate to hire his company again.
