Service Team of Professionals

We had a fire in June 2018 moved in October 2019. Shysters beware.

We hired the professionals from Service Team of Professionals (STOP) in January, 2015 to replace our kitchen floor, which had been destroyed due to flooding caused by a dishwasher malfunction.  Of course, the flooding occurred on a weekend so we knew that finding someone to fix not only the leaking issue but the floor was going to be a challenge.  We were pleasantly surprised.

Eric Blackburn was out within the hour to assess the damage and prepare a ?game plan? for the repair.  He set out a detailed plan for what needed to be done, how long it would take and what the estimated cost of repair would be.  We felt it was a reasonable plan and hired him to complete the necessary work.

Eric and his team started the repair right away.  They were efficient in their approach and were able to complete the repair ahead of schedule.  Because the time involved was less than estimated (even on a weekend), we were pleased that the final bill was less than we expected.

Once the repair was completed, they laid our new laminate floor.  It is beautiful.  The attention to detail is what impressed us the most.  And the recommendation they made as to color and type of laminate turned out to be perfect.  We couldn?t be more pleased. 

One final thing ? the folks from STOP did not leave a mess for us to clean up.  It was as if they had never been there ? except for the obvious new flooring!

Their cabinet sub-contractor was fantastic. We were very happy with that. We ended up having them do kind of a bunch of projects around the house, the general contractor stuff that we just hadn't had time to finish ourselves. So we had them install some new interior doors and then install new baseboards and trims around the doors throughout the house. We have been very displeased with the floors. We have kind of been going around with them trying to get them to come back out and fix things. It has just been an ongoing thing, almost two years later. All the hardwood started splitting apart and shifting. They had to refinish all the hardwoods throughout the house. Since that has happened of our existing floors, everything has been popping all over and separating. It was a match to our existing hardwoods which apparently was very expensive because it is really thick and they actually had a hard time finding a match to it because apparently they don't make that thick of a hardwood flooring material anymore. The previous owner had spent good money getting a really good product in and then we've just had nothing but it shifting around, popping and separating since the new flooring and refinish. I think they were okay on pricing.

First Impression and initial work: We had a water leak from the pipe in the back of our refrigerator through to lower level. The were prompt, very professional, courteous and very informative of what was needed, how long it would take and the impact to us. They were sorry that this happened during the holidays and very aware of any impact their work might have on us as an inconvenience and kept us aware of the work that might impact our baby. They set up dust barriers, were more than happy for me to setup a dropcam to follow the progress when we are out of the house. It sure helped during demolition and use of circular saws and hammers, they gave us a time frame we left the house but could check-in and they said when we saw the bare floor and counter gone it meant the loudest part of the work was done. So at the mall Christmas shopping was relaxing as we checked in and knew right where they were in the work. So far drying equipment in place for the next few days... More to come
