In the begining we chose Oak Grove becasue they were competitively priced and the sales rep was very prompt.  That all changed when we actually hired them.  They were 1-1/2 weeks late sending over the fianl drawings for the cabinets.  They were 2 weeks late to install the cabinets.  After completion we noticed they had removed the ktichen drawers from the project.  When asking them why the drawers were removed the sales rep said, "I assumed you didn't want them because the counter went from 18" to 12" in depth."  After looking over the signed contract the drawers were still in the contract, but were not in the drawings.  I simply didn't noticed it in the drawings, but did read the contract that had the drawers in detial on it.  After talking with the owner of the company I simply asked that the price of the drawers to be removed and final payment would be made.  The owner didn't see it that way and said the drawings didn't show the drawers, so we had to pay in full.  The owner said he did feel bad we didn't get what we wanted, so his solution to solve the problem was for us to spend MORE MONEY!  He wanted to charge us to add pullout selves.  So not only did we not get what we wanted, but now I had to spend more money.  As it turns out the sales rep got it wrong from the very begining.  His initial bid was priced out for a much smaller project than requested.  We gave Oak Grove very specific instructions on the size of the cabinets.  We did this by putting it in writing.  We saved a copy to prove what we wanted and the owner still blamed us for not reading the drawings properly.  The sales rep intial bid was low because he knew he was competing agains other contractors and simply wanted the job.  Once the fianl specs were done he needed to remove the drawers to save them money.  Never once did they tell us of this changed.  From the sales rep to the owner I have never worked with a company as unprofessional as Oak Grove Cabinets and I would never use them again.  I would stay away from Oak Grove because if there is a problem the only way they know how to fix it is by charging you more money.

On the most recent project they did finish the job within the allotted time and their pricing was fare.

Oak Grove was outstanding.  I got an incredible value for my money.  It is a family owned busines and it appears most employees have worked there many years.  Steve, my  sales/designer was patient, meticulous, and very straightforward as we developed multiple revisions of the plans. These were truly custom cabinets with special widths, depths, and other details.  They were only $200 more than their closest competitor but far superior regarding cabinet materials and hardware. They weren't much more expensive than Lowes/Home Depot's stock cabinets, which didn't include the costs of all the custom work I needed. Once I selected them, they were very reasonable about the cost and savings in many changes I wanted to make in the design as it was finalized.  I obviously paid extra for significant changes that increased the cost of the project, but the costs were reasonable and they incorporated many changes at no cost.  I wanted custom corbels under my range hood cabinet cover to match the corbelss on my 1930's home's livingroom fireplace and their "special projects" guy, Ron, did a fantastic job without revising the price.  They built a custom bench seat that they helped me design and a custoer hutch that appears to be freestanding. Several installers made several trips to install cabinets, and then trim after a separate contractor had painted the cabinets.  All of them were courteous and only one did not clean up afterward which they quickly resolved.  Even the owner came out to install some of the cabinets so I know Oak Grove is committed  from the top-down.

They always came out on the dates planned to install the cabinets, but the time of day was sometimes uncertain.  It would help for them to call when they are on their way or otherwise give a more specific time to make it easier for me to schedule my time to be home.
