Mark, Mike and their crews are the best. They are punctual, polite and efficient, actually pulling in the schedule by one day in each phase. We had a bit of everything done in our funky old house. Phase 1 was carpet/underlayment tear-out, leveling and installation of new oak flooring in two bedrooms, along with refinishing of existing hallway and family room oak flooring. Phase 2 was installation of new oak flooring over the existing worn out oak flooring in the entryway, living room and dining room; This was to bring the level of those floors even with the kitchen floor. They also removed a stair railing/banister in preparation for installation of a new one. It all looks tremendous and it's so nice having fresh, matching floors.

They showed up bright and early Monday morning, and by Wednesday afternoon it was all finished. The guys doing the work were quick and professional. The floor looks awesome. I can't believe the previous owners covered this floor with carpeting.

I went with Northwest Floors LLC because Mark seemed to know the business well, wood floors is their expertise and he gave me knowledgable information, and reassurance that the floor would look great when it was done. (I thought the country living for 12 years had beat it up quite well)
The 3 day process involves sanding, sealing, sealing and final finish. During those 3 days of work we had to be out of the house.
We were not actually in town when the work was done. We were given thorough instructions in writing for what to expect, and what we had to do before the work commenced(clearing pantry perishables, clearing the floor..) We were also given written instructions for the proper step-wise care of the newly finished wood afterwards. Re-entry and airing out on the 4th day went smoothly.
We are very pleased with the work done, and how it was all managed both before and during. They carefully and precisely taped off where carpet edge met wood floor or linoleum, and they contained the work area very nicely. I did not find wood sanding dust all over the house.
The floor looks awesome, and I have already recommended this company to a neighbor and to a sister-in-law.

Mark came out promptly and did the estimate - it was reasonably priced (actually less than I was expecting!)
They scheduled the job expiditiously and did a good job of explaining exactly what would be done and how long it would take and what we needed to do to prep for the work.
The work team showed up on time, were very professional and courteous and did their work even quicker than promised with excellent quality! Both the install and the refinishing was excellent!
After the install, we were moving back in some furniture including a very heavy piano. We scratched the new floor! Mark and his foreman came out to take a look and indicated what they'd have to do to fix the scratch. Again, it was very reasonably priced and was done quickly and professionally. We couldn't even tell where they refinished to fix the scratch!

I was very satisfied with them in all aspects. The bid was right on, the service was very prompt, very polite. The full flooring installed was around $14000. They were so busy that they couldn't get back with the final polish and we were held up for couple of weeks or so because the full crew was never available to finish everything off but that was minor and that wasn't inconvenient really. I appreciated that they were very responsive as far as trying to schedule at their end but just that they were trying to work at the other end. They did a very professional job and the finishing as well. Their price was in the ballpark and they were right in there.

They were great. They were not cheap, but really good workers and they did a great job. I actually had them come back out and do more hardwood. They charged me the same price even though it was a year and a half later.

Having first hand experience with the quality of their workmanship and the materials they use, I knew to expect nothing but perfection, and I wasn't disappointed. The floors are gorgeous, and the installation was executed perfectly. They even finished a day ahead of schedule. When they were done and gone, I was hard pressed to find any trace they were ever here. Amazing. I would highly recommend NW Wood Floors to anyone looking for a job well done.

We ordered a new dining room table and it was finally about to arrive when we decided that it would be best to have the floors refinished first. Northwest Wood Floors was recommended to us by a person we trust. On relatively short notice, Mark came and gave an estimate, which we accepted the next day so that we could schedule the work for the following week. Even on the tight timeline, we were mailed a Job Confirmation Sheet listing the work to be performed and what we could expect. Mark told us that we would have to be out of the house for three solid days due to the odor and to allow the finish to cure. We have a six-month old baby so this was going to be very inconvenient. At nearly the last minute, we asked about an "eco" finish in hopes the odor would be less of an issue. Mark outlined the pros and cons, which include less durability but also less odor and a quicker cure time, and we decided to go with it. The workers arrived on time, did good prep work such as installing plastic in doorways to other rooms, were cheerful, courteous and careful, and left very little dust. They showed us color options after an area of our floor was sanded, so we could choose based on real-life conditions. We were able to sleep in the house every night after airing it out a little, due to the eco finish. The floors are gorgeous and the end result was better than we could have imagined. The patches and filled cracks are practically imperceptible. We couldn't be happier with the results.

They did an outstanding job. Their quote was the most competitive and reasonable for an oak wood floor. They first get the samples and then leave our choice of wood in the house to acclimatize. We only had to move out of the house when they were putting down the finish but when we came back we really couldn t small that much. They were so professional. They were extremely punctual, even with the timelines of the job; they started exactly on time and finished it exactly one time. They came out in crews. The first crew came and cleared our things out and the other team came out to lay the floors and just got it perfect, finally the third team came and did the finish. They exceeded expectations in every regard and the results are terrific. The work looks top-notch and it is the first thing people always notice. They are wonderful to deal with and I would certainly recommend them to others.

I had to schedule several weeks in advance because of a busy schedule. Northwest Wood Floors showed up at 7 as agreed with a team of employees ready to prep and sand. We were informed ahead of time that we should not be in the house during the sanding, but we were able to sleep there the following night. The next two days two coats of Swedish Finish were applied. We had been informed ahead of time that this is a toxic finish while drying and we should not stay in the house for two nights while it was applied. I'd been told by some people that sanding a wood floor would raise lots of dust, but this did not seem to be the case when NW Wood floors did this; the work was very cleanly done and the floors looked better than new with the beautiful, comfortable Swedish finish on them. There was one spot where we didn't like how the moulding was cut. I made one phone call to NW Wood Floors and they came and fixed it to our satisfaction, no questions or arguments.

Nothing short of outstanding. The product & service far exceeded expectations. Mark (owner) was tremendously patient with my many questions beforehand. He was very friendly and the most knowledgeable of the 5 bidders we interviewed. He was the only one who could confirm the type of oak floor we already had, and he was the only one who was willing to lace it in with the new floor. The work was done on time and on budget. They cleaned up well -- no dust-storm to clean up after. Price was very reasonable -- in the middle of the range of bids, but he was doing more than the others. Work was done while we were on vacation. When we returned, there was a small problem, and they sent their crew leader out to fix it that very afternoon; only 2 hours after I called! The work was in March 2006. People still marvel at how good it looks even if they are seeing it for the 3rd time. A neighbor used them 4 months ago, even though he had used another firm in the past.

Excellent results. It turned out exactly the way it was described to us and per our expectations.
