These aren't traditional movers, but we had an unusual situation in that we were moving our retail store down the street, and we had a very large sales counter that we wanted to bring with us. This wasn't just any counter - this had a cement countertop that was several inches thick, making this very long counter incredibly heavy. It certainly wasn't meant to be moved, and the person that made it for us originally told us that it would likely crack if we attempted to move it. We persisted in trying to find a solution, as it would cost so very much to replicate the counter if we had to build it from scratch, and we were only moving 2 blocks. We found this operation, which specializes in moving big, fragile items (we figured someone must be able to move things like giant printing presses, etc that are very heavy yet easily broken). They were incredible. They were certain they'd be able to move it without a problem, so we took a gamble, moving the counter just a few days before we had to open the new store. They brought a big team of guys and used jacks, and tons of supports, lifting it in tiny increments, putting it on rollers, and gently rolling it to the curb where it was moved with a forklift and carefully moved to a flatbed truck. They did all of that in reverse on the other end, and our big counter was safely placed in its new home. A new counter would have been $6000, and these movers only cost us $1200.
